Read the article.

I did and Caroline Wilson said there were no plans as yet for teams from the WAFL or SANFL to join this under 19 nationwide comp.....and that the WAFL colts were separate from the WAFL.....but like I said above 42, this isn't the case because EF colts boys have been playing senior footy for the EFFC....so surely Wilson is off the mark there.....perhaps I am interpreting it wrong.....certainly no chance of WCE or Freo entering an under 19 side in 2019....

It looks like the bottom 2 or possibly 3 AFL teams will be able to draft up to 2 players each from state leagues according to this...so if correct, it's hardly a catalyst for the demise of the WAFL. You'd also think the Victorian AFL teams affected would draft from the VFL so they don't have to pay relocation costs etc.

Of course you would find that there is no problem with potentially a WAFL club losing its best player and not winning a GF as a consequence. To paraphrase Brian Dawson's comments after the 2010 GF he was grateful that there wasn't a mid-season draft.

He would change his moronic view if he lost Zac Clarke or Litherland mid season to the afl 42 as it would be good night $ubi!

No Sean...I would not as under the current proposal only 4 players nationally would be picked up and the chances of that being someone from WA would be slim considering it's Gold Coast and Carlton in the mix who would most likely take someone from the VFL and/or NEAFL....or maybe they could take Gault from you bogans...now that would be karma. The other thing you cretins are forgetting is the fact the players may want a shot at the big time or they may not...they've got choices if targeted by AFL clubs. 4 or so players out if the VFL, SANFL, WAFL and NEAFL is hardly going to cripple any competition.

My contempt for the above comments is greater than my combined contempt for John Howard and Tony Abbott combined.
