I love it. It’s the closest EF have come to be the best at anything for many a year.

Fair call Freez and 2000 was hardly a fair fight. Not only were East Perth loaded with Eagles they had also taken our coach! 1997 was also one that got away - with a bit of luck perhaps we could of won. Really we should probably have at least 5 post Eagles flags when you factor in 1988 too.

Swans have always been a boom/bust team.Rebuilds normally send the club to the bottom of the ladder.1991-94 played finals .2008-09-10-12 where serious premiership contenders.Apsolitley murdered in the 2012 finals by the umpires in the 2nd semi v Claremont. Then there's 2016,1995-99.
2010 and 1990 where fantastic Gf wins against very good Claremont teams.

Re signing Tony Micale as EP coach (though he'd gone to South by then), Ti Em, we were just getting you back for pinching Brad Smith and Ron Alexander (albeit they went to EF pre-Eagles days). ;)

I think Jack Sheedy delivered more flags for the Royals than Smith and Alexander combined for the Sharks.

Yes, Jack Sheedy was good for East Perth, as were Old Easts old boys Jerry Dolan (1936) and Cec Rowland (1944).
Though he wasn't a coach, East Perth did give East Fremantle Ian Thomson.

the claremont sides of 1981 and1987 have been the best I have seen.

Yes right you are ADGM - Tony Micale coached South in 99 for a 19 - 3 record from 22 including a GF appearance.

John Nolan, Robert Solin, Leigh Willison were a few other players to head to Moss St from Bulwer after Thomson, Smith & Alexander Archie.

The best sides for each club:

Cl 1987
S 1988 -- the sides under German had ability
SF 2009? The one which beat Subi
EF 1992
EP 1996 -- 2000 alignment
Peel -- alignmnet side -- they did have to qulaify for the finals in the first place
SD some of the sides in the early 90s were strong -- 2010
PFC -- the side which Ken Armstrong led to the finals -- you can't count the year the Eagles gave you Spinks, given the title of this particular thread.
WP-- 1995 -- heroic club since that time, I don't care what anybody says
