Yep , if we got the Sunday night of the WA only Queens Birthday long weekend we should be AFL free, ideal really.

The WAFL GF should be played at Perth Stadium the premier sporting arena in Perth.

The SAFL play at Adelaide Oval & the VFL at Etihad.

If it is to be played anywhere else it will be confined to just an amateur comp forever and a day.

Agree 1000%. If the problem is that the crowd might be too small just make sure they get a crowd. If they can 40000 plus to AFLW why can they not get a decent crowd for the WAFL GF.

I think a lot of people were just taking the opportunity to have a first look at the new stadium. I don't think they'll get another 42,000 in future even with a $2 entrance fee.

What else could it be? The standard of AFLW is very poor. Having the WAFL GF at Optus stdium may give a chance for some to attend an event there who may otherwise never go. This may sound silly but the only thing I am interested in seeing at the new stadium is the WAFl preferably with a team in blue and white taking out a another flag. Also that applies to many players.

yes , that was well canvassed in the weekend press and WACA are already taking steps to plan for it, according to the WACA CEO the adjustment can be made quite easily to get back to size. I was surprised to learn all the original seating was simply covered in sand and then turfed, its all still there.

Who will pay for the ground hire etc for the Perth Stadium to hold the WAFL GF?
Not sure about the economics of holding it there.
More likely that a deal could be done with the WACA that would make more financial sense and would allow atmosphere as well.

No hope next time slug them 50 bucks and the place would have tumble weeds.

by 2019 pretty much every man and his dog would of been to the stadium, and the novelty worn off.

it totally unsuited to small scale crowds, 12,000 people in a 60k stadium would be like a bad joke.
