18 games is really going to suck I miss the footy already! What a genius idea said no one ever

Larry I think Subiaco's dominance (and Perth's uncompetitiveness) are separate issues to the alignment imbalance, however these also need to be addressed for the WAFL to become a more unpredictable and therefore more interesting competition. You wouldn't have to have been Einstein to get a high score in WAFL tipping in 2017. For many weeks it would have been Subiaco, SF and whoever was playing Perth and EF. Bingo! 4 out of 4!

Same as SANFL and VFL

As far as Im concerned as long as SF keeps it three derbies a year, and it means one less game down at Mandurah or so then its no big deal.

What happens the the colts' and reserves teams when there is a match against one of those two teams?

SO we don't keep score in those matches either?

Colts and Reserves could maintain a separate comp excluding the two AFL ers, but TBh how much longer the colts and reserves keep going is anyones guess
why wouldn't you keep score a win would still get you points towards the ladder.

The Reserves and Colts would more than likely have a bye, but that said there is unlikely to be a Reserves competition by the start of the new decade.

Swan given the changes to the colts comp it doesn't matter, the process is all abt evenness and development, in reality, as much as it hurts me, the colts comp is now just a season long draft camp!

The most eloquent post you have ever posted Bazza. To paraphrase your comments as long as it doesn't affect the derbies, I don't give a stuff about the impact.

In a nutshell yes, if we can save money on hosting a loss making game v peel and/or travel down there then as far Im concerned its win win, as I say its important clubs don't lose their traditional clashes that make money, if for example SF and EF were to lose a derby down to two per year that would be strong grounds for protest.
