This bloke should of been given his marching orders years ago, only one of many reasons why the Perth footy club is in the state its in. He is a ordinary footballer too.

Anyone know what the tripping rule is these days? I remember not so long ago it was a free kick, 50 metres & report.

Nothing worse than a Dickhead in the outer, I would agree with that.

Pretty sure that law was amended about 10 years ago, and depends on intent

15.4.5 Prohibited Contact and Payment of Free Kick
A field Umpire shall award a Free Kick against a Player where they
are satisfied that the Player has made Prohibited Contact with an
opposition Player

(h) trips or attempts to trip an opposition Player, whether by the use
of hand, arm, foot or leg;

19.2.2 Specific Offences
Any of the following types of conduct is a Reportable Offence:
(i) attempting to trip another person whether by hand, arm,
foot or leg;
