Swan 42 -- points taken -- the truth is the Eagles are not really interested in compromise on the issue.
Barney -- Don't you like WP?

They wont say to much - they risk losing what they have.

The football public and media eyes are firmly on the dockers in the finals, nothing and nobody will care for anything but that.

last year the GF hype was all encompassing.

If they win the GF - the media feasting will go on and on, the alignment may get a mention as a huge success, all over summer songs of paraise will be sung for the almighty AFL franchises by one and all.

I think the alignment will be changed somewhat in your direction over time; however, the Eagles will never agree to point four.

The Finals problem might be solved by the following: the bottom four or five clubs play the Eagles and Fremantle in rotation until they are knocked out of the AFL finals. IE for this season, CL, SF, P and so on would play against EP and Peel. The top four would compete for the WAFL Premiership.[/quote

So you think the players in the team who finish last will want to play pointless games of football haha.
Take this season for example....
"Hey you Perth blokes who have had a dog of a season,it's not over yet cos you have to still rock up and play another game cos Freo are in the finals"

Mad Dog: just a suggestion: I did use the phrase 'might be solved' -- Perth do seem to be up for something new though? The whole thing is destroying my interest in the WAFL.

we had 8 teams once, then Peel came in and stuffed everything up.
Easy solution: eliminate Peel, the complete basket case.
Dockers align with another club. That's one problem solved.

EP will move into Lathlain by 2018 at the Eagles new base, and base themselves at new facilities there. That will happen, guarantee it.

Subi will push for WP to return to Leederville to ground share. By 2018 WP will get the usual shafting by the City of Joondalup, and seriously look at a return purely for better financial security.

South & East will share Fremantle Oval and therefore will see a game at that ground almost every week.

Peel have to go and the Dockers will have no problem finding a new partner. I would imagine the Dockers would prefer an alignment with a Fremantle club and have their players playing in that area. Moving to Cockburn is a detachment from the Heart of Fremantle, but retaining a connection through a re-think of the alignment will give the Dockers a continued connection with the soul of Freo. And it will kill off that disaster down at Peel for good.

West Perth are in the process of building a new bar & clubrooms in which west perth will run it so there will be no moves to Kingsway or Subiaco or merge with any other club, FACT.

interesting take on things jardine and what you're saying does make a lot of sense. although what would happen to Perth if the filth moves across to Lathlain? you couldn't have two WAFL clubs and one AFL club sharing the same facilities.

No Way will Perth be aligning with the Eagles. I would rather see my side finish 7th, 8th or 9th than have false success.

Me too.

would prefer EP as the non-advantaged EP.

One good thing to come out of the Eagles basing at Lathlain is hopefully it helps the PFC with great new facilities, which it will. Can see no downside to that for the PFC even if EP did re-base themselves there too. It wouldn't effect them in any way I don't think.

DD I'm not so sure.
Vince has done an about turn on the issue.
I would suggest as many members need to get to the AGM as possible.
Even if you have never been to one.
I stress we need members!!!!!
But we need the members, as the only way to resolve it is by special resolution.
So someone needs to get organised whilst there is still time.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!
