Ok...fair call. You're entitled to your opinion and at least you've been there and done that which is more than some others on here can say who are critical of Frank's award. Don't get me wrong...I'm shitty with what he and his mates have done to the WAFL over the alignment circus but I don't think he should be criticised for being on several boards most of which are charitable or not for profit organisations.

shouldnt get any award for sitting on a board or many boards, its what you do when you are there that counts.

I am pretty weary about the hole thing and we are basically FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE to coin a phrase. Frank is a legend in his own teacup and best of luck to him.

Grump as for this idea that I HATE EP I have nothing against the players and the club. The players are there because it is a requirement of the Alignment and they were forced to move to Peel and EP!

The other players are there because they are lucky enough to get a game.
I actually admire Bronte Howson and the support he has shown to the EPFC and the WAFL as a whole. I remember the WAFL ON show on Access and he put a lot of AHG money into that in the way of adverts and prizes etc. Bronte puts his money where his mouth is and that is commendable.
Bronte has carried EP for a long time and from what I heard he was cutting back on his financial support of EPFC.. I have heard this from members and friends.

I did say this on a post on another topic so stop being in Denial mate and making your own assumptions. I could do more research into the EPFC situation and financial position but wont waste my time. I know Swans,SF and Perth are having the same problems but they are working thru it.

Anyway enough said enjoy your season.. and we will see what it brings.

As Bazza said, there are real people doing real work in difficult places who don’t get recognized but some suited spiz from the Terrace can just put their hand up and every lords them as some great humanitarian. It’d be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Nah he wont be able to march on ANZAC DAY Dazzler unless he is a returned serviceman or had a family member serve. Gee mate it hasnt come to that yet.

During that time I have been on 4 boards unpaid for a total of sixteen years as well as being a member of Lions, include a time as President and also coached local football and cricket teams! Mate I have been involved in a large organisation that was required to nominate a quota of recommendations to the Australian Honours system every year, yes a quota they had to come up with 4 each year, it usually meant a few phone calls from those that wanted the award and those that had already been nominated by the applcant and awarded it in the past,,the whole system was corrupt as crap.

I've got a couple of gongs for my service to the community which I know was real...and they didnt invloved sitting in corporate boxes...

The sad thing about this is just about every Pro Cooper fan on here has predicated his praise for the bloke , by saying things like, While I am no fan, Or While I don't not support his actions on the WAFC in relation to the WAFL, , acnknowledging the fact that he has overseen a monumental screw over of the local comp, yet then go on the sing his worthiness,,,this website is about footy , so despite that the still cant see the wood for the trees

The most tragic thing about all this , is every media story . release or publicity stunt in relation to the award has focused Squarley on his role at the WAFC , vistually nothing else, I think even a picture had him sitting at Subi Oval..

The travesty is most out there will take this as a ringing endorsement for the WAFC role over the past years in destroying WAFL..in other words this is yet another free kick to the AFL machine at the expense of the truth.

Funny you say that as last night I meant to put it in my Long post but forgot.

It is quite clear these organisations will do anything to boost the exposure
of a person concerned with broadening and expanding their organisation.

In other words it is a publicity gimmick No publicity is bad publicity

They can now say HEY LOOK AT THAT (surprise) the guy heading up the WAFC has just won the Order of Australia now that must show he is a jet and EVERYTHING he is doing is ok by everyone....
My question is who is everyone as he was obviously nominated by the powers to be not the WAFL football public that is a certainty..

The general public here and more importantly, sports goers, will only know , hear and be interested in the fact that he is the head of the WAFC,,that was the big barrow being pushed,,he has been a great success in guiding WA Football. giving more than tacid approval for their actions...thus carrying the footy public wuth them..
