Thanks for this Rock.. This might answer a couple of question re Lammie and Travers etc

WAFL stars head South
West on deadline day

SOUTH Bunbury and Augusta-Margaret River have pulled off deadline day clearance deals, injecting WAFL stars into their league squads before the June 30 clearance cut-off.

The Tigers and Hawks sit second and third respectively on the ladder and lead the chase for the unbeaten Eaton Boomers.

Bunbury and the Harvey Bulls also added players from the WAFL.

Junior product Wes Lammie returned from Swan Districts to bolster the Tigers’ squad while the Hawks added to their midfield depth with 154-game Peel Thunder star Pat Travers.

South Bunbury captain Matt Giacci described Lammie as an amazing athlete and he would slot into the Tigers’ team nicely.

"Wes is an absolute gem and one of the best ruckman floating around in the WAFL," Giacci said.

"I watched him dominate the local competition early, then take his footy to the next level and become a dominant ruckman at Swans."

Lammie played 64 league games over six years and established himself as one of the premier ruckman in the competition.

Travers played 33 league games with Peel, winning the club’s best and fairest award in 2005 before moving to East Perth where he added 97 games. He returned to Peel in 2012.

Bunbury found another midfielder with Rowen McDonnell arriving from Subiaco, where he played 16 League games in 2012.

McDonnell made his debut on Sunday against Carey Park after eight appearances in Subiaco’s reserves, averaging 16 disposals a game.

Harvey was the busiest club in the last week of the clearance window, with Jeffery Wood, Ben Wood, Jamen Williams, Jake Pritchard, Robert Bennell and Peter Athanasiou joining the Bulls.

Coach Paul Pannell said the inclusions were unlikely to play a big part in 2013 but Williams, from South Mandurah, would play out the year.

"There’s a couple of blokes we have cleared from Perth that are probably more likely going to play next year," Pannell said.

"We are hopeful we will see them this year but it’s more an eye to the future."
