I totally agree, mate. I told you that I thought the comp would be quite competitive after our match in Round 1. I am interested in the opinions so I could get a gauge as to where we are at. The next 4-weeks will tell us for sure, but just to keep Monday interesting I was starting a conversation aha.

Was impressed with your lads LAG - obviously we have Quinns next week (top 5 first up is hurting!!) - but I think Warnbro is the best (slightly) we have played thus far. Bit bigger than your guys I think and use the ball just as well. Having said that I wouldn't be laying any money down just yet!! It's shaping up to be very competitive between the top 4-6 (Basso may be back into last yeas form?).

Canningvale might struggle with there depth come later in the season.
Quinns the obvious standout with smashing teams in league and reserves followed by canning and warnbro with both there teams going well!

It's a fair point ITK - watching Saturday CV didn't have much in their twos (With all due respect) and a couple of colts doubled up, one in the league (Who played very well). No excuses at all but I think if they lost what we have out atm they would be struggling.

Yeah fair point. We have, I would think 7-12 out from last years GF Team, which means some of our Reserves from last year are now playing League each week. That, and we have lost our three best Reserves players to retirement (incl Duane Rochford - 98-goals last season - C3R Association F&B - MASSIVE LOSS).

In saying that, we are still a new club, our committee and members are doing everything to get the CVSFC name out there in a tough 'market' with so many clubs within such a small vicinity, hopefully we can attract some new players in the coming seasons. Our Colts and Juniors are strong, so I think it is only a matter of time for our Reserves.

Few big weeks ahead for Canning too, both Warnbro and the Vale away.
We were pretty flat against SNESA with skills well down and not hitting targets up forward, however still managed to control the game fairly comfortably. SNESA have the ability to turn on the pressure as they showed throughout the last qtr and will give a few teams a shake this year.

Looking forward to playing the Vale, and new oval to explore before they hit our mudpit mid winter.

That's the interesting thing for our club is a lot of our depth still comes from the colts!!
Our reserves are building and getting stronger but I think the league side still only has 5 blokes over 23!

Here is the negative, festival down south means we miss a few! Haha
Any other colts sides gonna be missing a few blokes?

after playing both Quinns and Warnbro i think Quinns are slightly better it will be a very close contest and i wouldn't be surprised if it went either way. it just felt like Quinns had more control of the contest would love to watch these two when they play each other.

4-undefeated sides after Round 4. Wouldn't think that would have happened too many times. Percentages being the deciding factor on the ladder say that Quinns and Warnbro are the two heavyweights of the comp and reading above Clarko seems to agree.

Clarko - Kenwick
Ace - Bassendean
Dingo - Valley

The above teams have played three of the four undefeated sides. Out of curiosity, anyone have any other thoughts?

From a Canningvale perspective, we have 4-massive matches coming up. SNESA (A), Canning (H), Wanrbro (A) then Quinns (A). This will really show us where we are at after coming through C4 then C3.

GO!

From a Basso perspective we have played Canning, Canningvale and Quinns in the first three our games of the season, all very good running sides but I wouldnt say that Quinns is better then Canningvale, with Canningvales players having an average age of 18 they def are the team to beat.

I cant gauge where Basso are at the moment, as we have finally put our full league team together after being hit with alot of injuries early on in the season and also having our coach back is a massive help, We have also added a few massive inclusions from Beechboro so that helps as well.

Looking forward to Kenwick this week to hopefully keep on that winning run!!!

Interesting. Good to hear other points of view.

As Jago mentioned, we will lose 3/4 guys this week for the festival down south, but I assume most clubs will be in a similar position.

... Ace, we probably have an average age of about 20 (not 18), but with quite a few guys who barely shave I can see how you can make that call aha..

...to the mud-monster, lots of our guys are ex Sunday League (Armadale/Thornlie/Gosnells), so a trip to Wyong is nothing unfamiliar for us. We played there last year as well against SNESA and will look forward to the game - good change-rooms and even more important, a good bar!
