It is time the WAAFL opened their eyes and stopped believing it does not happen in all grades.

It will work alot better and the clubs I believe will all benefit in the long run.

There basically is one... First - A coach can be paid upto $16,000 ?!?! can't tell me that there is no gentlemen agreements with coach & recruits (for high paid coaches).

Second - Clubs are allowed to pay cash performance based awards. $200 to a B.O.G. seems like a payment.

There needs to be semi-professional football in Perth. Obviously the Sunday League went belly up - but if it was a Saturday based Football League; would it have survived?

Agreed Dicky Boy we need semi pro footy in the metro area again. Maybe the league could do some research on which clubs would be into it? The teams all stay the same each year and rivalry is built like the Sunday League had?
Knight Footy is the winner!

What the WAAFL should do is that any ex WAFL players or ex WAAFL players that leave their clubs to go bush for money must play with that club for a minimum of 3 years and the country club must pay them the same amount for the 3 year period before they can be re-registered as an amatuer player or WAFL player again. Maybe this will stop the country clubs robbing local players with huge player payments and stop amatuer clubs trying to compete allegedly with player payments. ie: players wont want to go bush for money and perth clubs wont need to allegedly pay anyone for anything.

Coming from a country club i know that some clubs are paying huge money to secure players which is setting a precendence that not many clubs can match apart from the weathier ones. I do know of a b grade amatuer side had try to lure a few country players by offering good $$. Money will always be an issue with both country and WAAFL clubs as clubs will always try and work out ways around caps to secure better quailty players.

I'm sick of all these rumours. LP, contact the waafl and report the club involved. Don't hide behind a computer screen, do something about it.

Agreed the reason all this rubbish paying players stuff is still going on is because the people that hear about it do nothing. People in the know should be encouraged and even rewarded for speaking up

couple of my mates get paid ... why would I want to dob in their club and fuck up their footy? They'd be pretty pissed at me if they found out I was the one who dobbed them in.

someone else wants to dob them in good luck to them.

The only true ones are the ones that the direct friends know about. Rest are just hearsay.

Good to see a club penalised - but some people being paid by some clubs will always occur. Players still 'shop' themselves around. Happens.

Semi-Professional league in Perth is the only way to go. Have a Nth Perth and a South Perth League. If Metro were forward thinking - they'd take the WAAFL head-on rather than having their competition on the verge...
