obviously had no troubles finding work for Bower, Hawksley, Jacky,Motlop and Cruize Garlett to go with their recruits that are already there or is Freo paying for all of this ?

Exactly!

Suddenly Mandurah is the place to be.

The Perth Board was opposed to the inclusion of Peel but the then President went against the Board's decision when the vote was taken and the rest is history.

Of course, there were some WAFL clubs who voted in favour of Peel.

Are you sure that your club was not one of them????? Glasshouses????

Swan Districts certainly did NOT vote Peel in unlike your good selves (Catalano) & why would we as we stood to lose & eventually did lose half of our country zone!
..might I add we were one of only 2 clubs against the Eagles & Fremantle being formed
..also against the host club rubbish originally back in 98/99 & once again we are fighting against it now
..over to you now smokey!! B)

Nowhere did I say SD voted for Peel. Was asking only.
Just pointing out that there were WAFL clubs who did and so it is unfair to say that Perth (by default of it's President) were soley responsible.

It would be interesting to know which club voted for or against.

I am fully aware Catalano went against your clubs wishes over that decision smokey ..I would still love to know why he did as it certainly hasnt improved Perth on field or that much off the field & as I said in a previous post it could well of hurt Perth in both instances as Peel have been nothing but a drain to the WAFC financially for 17 bloody long years!!

We all know why Jacky & Motlop went there but did I read that the reason Cruize Garlett went there was to improve his chances of Fremantle picking him up for next year as he will be right under their noses ..if I read that right how many other young WAFL players will WCE & Freo entice over to their Reserves side from now on?? And the brain dead WAFC thinks this is all hunky dory ffs!

Only have a conspiracy theory on Catalano's action BH.
I am not going to disagree about the impact on both Perth and the WAFL comp. It certainly set Perth back and we are still paying for it. As for the WAFC, well lets call it self-inflicted wounds if not mortal.

Yeah, I'm surprised that the pro AFL Host club folk are saying Peel will still be easy-beats.

Something drastic would have to occur for that to happen and I don't see the Fremantle management allowing things to unravel.

Agree LH I think Peel showed signs of improvement last year and will only get better under this arrangement. Definitely top four material.
