BH......to me Dawson plays on the oppositions 3rd tall forward.....McPharlin takes number 1 and Johnson takes number 2.......then Zac at three.......at some point Zac is at FB during a game due to positional rotating....but gone are the days of set positions......

The old breed of fullback used to take the oppositions number one tall forward,like what Ames does for SD in the WAFL. I reckon Ames could do Dawsons job,but realistically he would never be good enough to mark the opposition number one tall forward like he does in the WAFL...fellas like Roughead, Franklin,Cameron,Brown,Reiwoldt,Cloke, Kennedy and Petrie would eat him alive........but saying that they would eat Zac alive, thus why Lukey Mac marks them....but even he isn't Freo's designated fullback!

........BH out of interest, all this anti Zac ranting, is it due some what to your fustration, that your beloved Ames hasn't received the recognition that you SD boys thinks he deserves?.....you know as well as I that Zac is Freo's 3rd tall defender.....nothing more nothing less.

Dawson played one game for Perth a couple of years ago. It was one of the worst performances ever by an AFL listed player, and that's saying something. We have had some beauties over the years. He was playing on Josh Smith and basically was out classed.

Josh Smith has pantsed many a defender in the WAFL.....dont forget there is not much a defender can do if the midfield delivery is spot on and your own midfielders arent good enough to pressurize the delivery coming in.....something Freo's midfielders do very well.......THUS making up for Zacs obvious deficiencies as a defender!.....

Up all day against West Perth and still manage to lose by a point. Hilarious!

Haha what a joke of a club,42 points up at halftime with 13 Dockers players surely it wasn't fitness they couldn't even keep Perth in the four for one more week by winning.

I thought Peel really dug deep when 42 pts up with 13 dockers players available. They never gave up and ended up with a resounding 1 point loss. Peel were facing a huge belated win, but they delved into their bag of traditional losing riches and managed to pull off yet another memorable loss. It's a credit to them, they never gave up until that defeat was in their keeping.

They are like the Geelong of the WAFL, but in reverse.
What a joke. An absolute joke decision 18 years ago that is an even bigger joke today . And has sent this comp into a decline since day dot. Bloody ridiculous. I'd like to hear Dorro and his brains trust try and justify Peel right now.
