I would argue that the NRL has made more in-roads into the Aussie Rules states than the AFL has made into the rugby states. And this is with a lack of a team here. NRL tv ratings are up - AFL is falling.
Doesn't surprise me mate, given the shocking fixtures of broadcast games this year, showing Carlton on a Friday night constantly, then 4 Thursday night games in a row which get lost amongst normal mid week viewing, I'd expect if Collingwood keep powering along the viewing will pick up...regardless Australian Rules Attendances still leave Rugby for dead.
