Langer was the only candidate if he wanted the job, shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

big step for Voges to go straight into top job but cant think of any other candidates unless they want an experienced coach like Greg Shipperd to take over for a while, not sure who else is out there ?

As a supporter of the Western Australian Sheffield Shield team it is certainly a reason to be delighted.

Maybe they can offer the job to Lehman?

Looks like Shaun Marsh will play 100 tests now......be interesting to see who Langer gives a go....does he stick with that SA touring squad...Langer seems like a loyal sort of guy....tho any thoughts ex WA boy Harris had of playing test cricket have been dashed with JL appt....time will tell I guess.

Good onya JL. Not everyone here is anti Aussie. I have no doubt that you’ll instill a bit of heart into the team and won’t play favourites with the 2 states that see it as being born on the east coast gives you the right to represent Australia. Hopefully a coach with a set of nurries will be able to get the team to produce results on the field.

Not sure what people have got against Langer. WA cricket was in an absolute shambles culture wise when he took the job and he has got them to a situation where for the most part they were playing competitive cricket even though they didnt win the shield during his tenure. The disasterous end to this season was a result of an massive injury list so this can't be pinned on JL.
