No real fan of the Comm Games but in track the best sprinters (100m & 200m) in the world are mostly Jamaicans (Caribbean) & the best long distance runners in the world usually come from Africa mostly Kenyans.
Australia were usually strong in swimming although that has tapered the Poms have come on in the pool & Canada always have a few handy ones.
Cycling the Poms are strong the rest cbf to be honest.
I believe they are struggling to sell tickets to the GC games from what I have read.

BC -- correct -- the standard is reasonable across the board -- in rowing for example NZ wins regularly around the world.

gtr: good one -- the medal count is a bit skewed because South Africa would have been banned -- a great effort by NZ too, as they would not have had many more than 2 million people at the time.

Ark where SA banned as early as 1962 in Common Games ..Played till the early 70' s in Cricket and Rugby.

yep, Ghana and India had them bootted out of the Comm., in 1960. against Menzies' wishes. Bradman was the one whom continued to play cricket against them.

The East Germans were the best a cheatting -- they certainlly cost Boyle a gold medal in 1972

With new facilities like Perth Stadium, Perth Arena, HBF Stadium, Speedome, Champion Lakes Rowing Centre etc we wouldn’t have to build too much by way of new stadia And is at a far better standard than that on offer in 1962.

Tv ratings to India and Africa .UK would be massive .No tourism campaign could sell Perth and Wa like the Common Games.BH beach volleyball in Broome.Some sport in Margaret River.
