Thursday is the big day when they get me out of bed and up and running and have a heap of scans etc. Also they will start to disconnect all the tubes and hopefully i will be home for Sunday with an eight to twelve weeks to full recovery.

All the best Winger and for a speedy recovery.

Yep Thanks, Interesting we tend to put a lot a trust in Doctors, and it doesn't always go well.

All the best.

Thanks to all the members who posted their messages. Well I’m home after four days in hospital. The surgeon performed the minimum invasive technique that only a few surgeons are qualified to carry out. It’s still a cut between the ribs on the right side to gain entry to the Aortic valve. The initial trauma after the operation still like full open heart surgery but the recovery time is much shorter. I would not wish this on any person because when you wake up you know it’s done and you are helpless and in stress. Also what I saw in the ICU was bloody horrible. The people that work in the hospital system are special folk. The young nurses and ECU trainees to the doctors and orderly’s, they are like bloody ants that all have a job to do. So now I’m under strict instructions on what I can and can’t do and rattle when I walk. There is one bloke I have to thank, the calf that was slaughtered primarily for its tissue and then the meat was processed for eating. Now I know with my last comment there will be some witted remarks about footy clubs and calves’ so I am looking forward to reading them. Again lads have regular checkups.

Great news mate, glad it all went well, those nurses and doctors are special people and don't get enough recognition for what they do, I had a colonoscopy last year at Hollywood hospital and they looked after me like a king!
Catch up soon.
