Starc averages more in test cricket batting at number 8 than Mitch Marsh at number 6,that says a lot. Other than Renshaw a pretty limp batting display by the top and middle orders, Smith's was a very soft dismissal. Wonder if Renshaw is the first batsman in test history to retire "desperately needing a crap". He should have just done it in his pants and that would have got rid of the close in fielders as well :P

Nice work Mike
Allowing for Kohli's 200 odd, I'd say India would be looking at 550 against our attack

mikeh: beautifully said. India will be planning to bat for the next 1.5 days at least. We have missed a big opportunity having won the toss and batted, something England did all during their series against India.

England made 400 plus scores and still lost 4-0....India are due a low score or three....fingers crossed it happens on day 2....really only way Australia has any chance of staying in this test ...early wickets esp Kohli....really need Starc or Hazlewood to do a Gillespie & McGrath here and have career defining series....should of played Bird instead of M Marsh esp since Mitch only made 4 and won't be as accurate as Bird...please prove me wrong Mitch!

Great to see Renshaw make some runs....literally....his temperament has always been impressive at such a tender age...need to find more like him and blood them early instead of playing fellas who continually come up short and so little fight...

I'm listening on the ABC but can barely believe my ears.
India 105 all out
O'Keefe 6-35

7 for 11 in barely 7 overs ?????

I understand the romantics of having unique cricketing pitches in each of the nations , but you can't have a plod of underprepared mud like that rubbish in an International fixture

That's not ability there that's influence of a pitch - nowhere near the end of the second day & that's 20 wickets already

ICC are fleas

Fark mate they are going to be lucky to last 40 overs if their spinners get lucky - that pitch is gone already , its spinning like a tennis ball
