My understanding is that unless there is irrefutable evidence that the on field umpire got it wrong then the original decision stands. I may have been looking at it with "aussie coloured glasses" but it appeared to me that there was no way that you could tell for sure if Philanders hand was on the bat or not. This was a 50/50 decision overturned on fairly flimsy evidence I thought. However, if the on field umpire had said not out and the Australians had reviewed it I would have still expected the original decision to have stood. I know this sounds slightly contradictory because we need as many decisions to be correct as possible, however if we go back to the purpose of the DRS, it is to cut out the howlers, not to overturn marginal decisions made by umpires on the field. There will always be some umpires calls which will be debatable but if we remove this human factor out of it we might as well get robots to adjudicate.

What a pity the 3rd umpire in this Test (Illingworth from Eng) wasnt umpiring in the infamous Kasprowicz "dismissal" that cost us the 05 Ashes series!

Haysman i didnt mind (probably because he is really an Aussie played for SA in the 80's) but add to that clown list one H.D Ackerman (who the feck is he anyways??) ..have you ever heard a bloke with a bigger chip on his shoulders over the Aussies than that tool!

Poms got flogged by a far superior team BH. Did not go into hiding as such, just the unwarranted personal attack on Broad, by those who have never met him,just because he gives as good as he gets on the field i found a bit churlish. Well done aussies and moreso well done Mitch Johnson, who came in from the cold, to be the best fast bowler going around at the mo.

There's one commentator on Fox and I haven't been able to catch his name, that I think is very good to listen to. He's a coloured guy and has an accent between S African and W Indian - anyone able to tell me who he is?
