The WAFL was stabbed the heart in 1986 when the Eagles became an AFL club. Then it had the knife twisted in 1994 when the Dockers were born.
I believe that the clubs, and the WAFL, did not do enough to ensure the WAFL was able to maintain itself and stay a vibrant competition. They thought that the two AFL clubs would keep them in money for ever and a day.
Do I want the WAFL to die? No way, but complaining about the two AFL clubs constantly is not doing the cause any good.I wonder how many moaners here have actually set pen to paper and made the point to their club, the WAFL and the WAFC.
The deal is done whether you like it or not.You took the money and ran.Now good moaning after the event.
S&S and all other Souths people here, write to your club and tell Rait that you want him gone.Tell the club you want him gone.Set the wheels in motion to have an election to get rid of him and any others who you don't want there.

In my job I need to be able to think logically. I have become very, very confused with your comments above. On the one hand you say that the WAFL's current plight was caused and exacerbated by the birth of the Eagles and the Dockers respectively. You also indicated that the WAFL itself didn't do enough enough to 'maintain itself and stay a vibrant competition. They thought that the two AFL clubs would keep them in money for ever and a day'. Yet notwithstanding the effect the two WA domiciled AFL clubs have had on the demise of the WAFL you imply that they have no part in providing the financial wherewithal to ensure the viability of the WAFL competition. Further, you support their move in reducing the integrity of the WAFL in their alignment with two WAFL clubs which has effectively strengthened those two clubs and conversely weakened the other seven WAFL clubs.

Finally, it needs to noted once again that both Swans and Souths voted AGAINST the introduction of the Eagles. Both WAFL clubs knew that the impact to the WAFL was going to be far greater, and it was, than was being stated by those advocating that the WAFL should get a team in the VFL.
