Who stayed up and watched the Greek v Aussie Greek match last night? Being a Covid sloth I allowed myself the luxury and I can tell you you couldn’t blink or you’d miss something. Kyrgios is an absolute freak, I’ve watched all the greats in my time but this guy does things with a raquet that is bordering on the ridiculous.

He is frustrating to watch because he blows so many points and break point opportunities but just when you are ready to write him off he does the ridiculous you can see that gets in the head of his opponent and I’m just talking about his tennis not the other stuff.

But clearly the “other stuff” got to his opponent last night so much so he blasted two balls into the crowd in frustration, one of them hitting a spectator in the head. He only copped a code violation and a point awarded against him. As Kyrgios said, had it of been him they would have defaulted his match.

Check out the two pressers in full on YouTube, it is as entertaining as the match itself. Four Aussies in the last 16, hasn’t happened for a while.

To be honest DD, I can’t be bothered watching any of his stuff.  I think he’s worse than McEnroe.  Spitting at someone while on court is totally disrespectful and disgusting.

The popular Greek word ''Malaka''comes to mind when describing Nick Kygrios. The fact that he has only managed to peak at No.13 which was several years ago  in a career thats spanned about a decade on the Pro circuit,is an indictment of the god given talent he's been blessed with, and you would have to say he's the tennis worlds ''Elijah Taylor on steriods''when it comes to wasted talent, despite the fact he's still managed to make a few million along the way,and maybe money is more important to him than legacy..

Yep 58, RL understand fully what you are saying I've felt the same way in the past but I think he has knuckled down a bit lately, matured if you will in a Nick Kyrgios kind of way. It's pointless anyone expecting him to act like Ash Barty. Pigs will fly before that happens.

I think he's been in good form and I'll give him his due he is very honest about himself and realistic that he will probably never be a top ten player because he admits he can't commit to the circuit because he hates travel.

He talked about the fact Australians have to travel a lot more than European players and players in other countries like the US. Sounds similar to what our sporting teams in WA have to put up with.

Anything can happen with this guy but one thing is for sure he's probably the player other tennis players fear to play the most because he is so unpredictable and unconventional. He could win this tournament, or he could be out in the next round in straight sets or kicked out by the referee.

To be honest he seems very self absorbed on court and I reckon Umpires should demand double the money for officiating in a match that he plays. He seems to get bored with the long drawn out matches and appears to feel the need to entertain himself with unusual shots, underarm serves or engagement with the crowd. This is where he will probably come unstuck if he gets to play Nadal or Djokovich who thrive on long baseline slogs.

This might give you a new perspective on the new Nick Kyrgios. He has matured a lot. Give credit where it's due. I like his honesty and his ability to answer all questions with absolute honesty. That's a very mature press conference.

Isn’t it amazing the timing of these things?

www.news.com.au/sport/tennis/nick-kyrgio...40f21650025072eaac3a

What’s the saying? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!! Accused of, wait for it….”grabbing her”. Lol

Would it have come out now if he got knocked out in the first round? Would it have made any difference if they waited a week? Now we know where all the focus of the journos are going to be post match win or lose.

I’ve already stated what I think about him and anyone that hits a woman is a low life.  However, if he is being charged for just grabbing her, then this is ridiculous.  I suppose it depends on how much force he used.  A finger on a forearm is enough for a charge in today's world.  Journo muck raking.

It's an allegation, so lets stick to that, I'm a believer in innocent until proven guilty, something the MeToo brigade have no respect for.

If Nick is proven guilty of common assault then he gets what he deserves, but an allegation of grabbing seems like headline grabbing. Lets wait and see.
