Where realistically will that person come from, there is no one who presents as being worth a pinch of the proverbial. You will not agree with me but the closest they have having a viable leader is Sneakers but I would not think he wants the gig.
The other problem we have is that the PR man is not going anywhere and they have the same issue no viable successor.

Who would you suggest SD? Wong is too adversarial, Plibersek doesn't appear interested plus I think Labor is still gun shy from the Gillard experiment. The only real alternative to Albo is probably Jim Chalmers but I'm not sure he has enough support from the various factions.

Yes they probably would but which women in her right mind would want the gig after how Gillard (ignoring that she set up to fail and did not help herself in the process)

The best performer on the Labor side by a mile is Kristina Kenneally. She raised her profile and appeal amongst the rednecks during her term on SkyNews and she is the only Labor member to give Peter Dutton the shits so that's fair indication of her abilities. She's smart, easy on the eye and prosecutes a good argument. The biggest problem for her is she's in the Senate and doesn't have a lot of factional friends. In fact she has a lot of enemies and no one is interested in finding her a seat to contest in the lower house. Plibersek's husband got done for importing heroin in the early 80's but is now a top public servant in NSW proving that the public sector forgives like no other.

Plus Keneally didn't do herself any favours as Premier of NSW where she was roundly criticised for her performance and only lasted a couple of years before being voted out in a landslide in 2011.

Geez, fair go, she copped a poisoned chalice there coming at the end of a long run corrupt government. Just as Joan Kirner and Carmen Lawrence here, they wheel out the sheilas to save the furniture.

That may be why she isn't going anywhere as you need to be popular in NSW to have any hope of leading the ALP. It's one of the few (with QLD) swing states left in the country.

I've love to know what Comrade 42 thinks about this?
