BH: did the South players make any errors during their training session? There is no point training if you don't train well.

it simply took until 1982 before John Todd got the balance right all over the field
1981 was a freak scoring year there were some amazing scores

It probably took us until 1982 in that famous game at Fremantle Oval were Mal Brown made the SF players stay on the field and train during half time that we could actually beat SF, plus having no Maurice Rioli who had gone to Richmond helped!!!


it was almost supernatural how Maurice produced his very best against Claremont & Swan Districts and most particularly in finals
we were never the same side without him in the guts
but that's taking nothing away from Swan Districts in that match we were made to be pish & deserved that bake from Browny

southerener: yes your right-- south lost Rioli; SD lost Smith; S lost Buckenara; CL lost the Krakeouer, partitally offset by the addition of Goulding.
