BH your club made the mistake of being honest and accepting responsibility for it's poor financial management and accepting it has to work it's way back financially. Unlike the debt dodgers who continued to recruit knowing full well it is not paying it's bills. Maybe it's not too late, give Korda Mentha a call, reset to zero and start again. The precedent has been set.

It sounded ok at first but then I quickly realized that there was no end goal to all of this repeated youth /home grown policy. No wonder we have results like today when we don’t have a defined period of time that we hope this course to a Pierre is contender should take. This team we are currently putting out would be the worst in our history! It would have to be the worst 50 players on a WAFL list I’ve ever seen.We are gifting games to youngsters who clearly aren’t ready and are non deserving! We are playing guys who are over the hill. Not even in Harding’s year when we won 2 games were we this bereft of talent and quality senior players. And the mind boggled today when I saw a guy who could give leadership and guaranteed effort dropped to the reserves in Blakey. Pickering surely can’t go on next year but there may need to be some extra shuffling of the decks.

On another note.... what has happened to the planned redevelopment of the oval that was ticked off on 3 or so years ago? LandCorp were partners?
...

The local greeny residents kicked up a fuss to the Town of Bassendean that a couple of trees might get chopped down and it never eventuated.

After half time they decided to give up running for each other and allow East Perth to swarm all over them. School boy skill errors, Handballing to team mates under pressure and zero tackling pressure . The frustrating thing is that they have shown during games that they are capable of at least some effort and intensity. But they just do this when they feel like it and when the opposition start to fight back, they roll over like friendly puppy dogs. The margin of 8 points flattered us in a massive way today. East Perth were dominating but couldnt kick straight.

It is blatently obvious to me that the players are not accountable for their performances. They are unfit, soft and seem not to have an alternative game plan if bombing the ball into the forward line doesnt work. And don't give me that rubbish about young players, some of the worst mistakes were being made by the experienced guys and East Perth had just as many young guys running around out there but what they had was a team spirit that seemed to bond them together when Olongo was taken off. They are a club who are rejoicing in their new found independence from the AFL and are going in the right direction in
contrast to Swans.

Mike it is high time and long overdue that the leaders at this football club show some balls and leadership for a change and that means both the on field and off field leaders.
One part of that should be the club finally employing a fitness/strength & conditioning expert to oversee our pre season preparation something that hasnt happened for quite some time.
There should also be buy in from all 60 odd players in the senior squad for that or move them on as it is time to become a lot more professional in our training as it is quite evident it is not with the game day failures.
They have 6 weeks left to convince me there is a future with this football side or like yourself I will be partaking other pursuits on my Saturdays from next year and taking my money with it!
Enough is enough!

If the boffins at the club do not recognise the dire situation we are currently in on the field and have been in for at least 4 years then they need to remove their head from their proverbial and we are all kidding ourselves and wasting our time!

For me it is the clubs dishonesty in pumping up this illusion of a rebuild with all this language we have been hearing about developing young players that has been peddled for 5 years. So many experienced players have walked out of the club in the last few years and I'm sure we are going to lose a few more at the end of this season. Young players need experience around them to learn. As an example yesterday we saw Nathan Blakley dropped to the reserves. Nathan hasnt been in the best of form over the past few weeks but he is a guy who will always have a crack and adds physicality and prescence to the midfield. Maybe it wouldnt have made any difference to the result but at least it would have provided some competition for Ajang Ajang who was basically doing as he liked.

Mike that was the best reserves side we have fielded in a month, I thought we would win that. You must have some talent in the reserves to work with? Not sure what happened in the colts?

Not too sure what happened there Royal 2019, East Perth had 86 more possessions, about 60 more marks and also won the tackle and inside 50 count but Swans won where it counted. If you look at some of the prominent players for Swans there was Reidy who shouldnt have been dropped from the league team, Italiano whose disposal has been found wanting at league level, Graydon Wilson, ditto to Reidy, Nathan Blakely and Mitchell Bain. I'm not sure if these guys are being dropped down to try and qualify the reserves who are in finals contention but surely the priority needs to be league victories. The colts game was won by East Perth I believe but there is nothing on the WAFL website as yet. Maybe the WAFC carrier pigeon from Bunbury lost its way!

Mike I am glad you mentioned Reidy as I was staggered he was dropped not too mention Doc whilst surely Bain, Italiano, Hackett and a few others would have been better value than some who continually get a game and make the same basic schoolboy errors week after week eg kicking on your opposite foot when under no pressure and putting it out on the full inside defensive 50!
