Mate they're a pustule on the arse of the WA game & always have been - Swans showed them to be a very ordinary outfit given the amount AFL assistance on the paddock this arvo , full credit to the Ducks on keeping it to 3 goals or so

The good thing about today is that Swans percentage didn't take too much of a hit. The next two weeks will be a season definer with home games against Perth and East Perth. Swans really need to win both these games because from there it gets a whole lot more difficult with match ups against the top 3 sides in the final 5 weeks. Two of these games are away as well just to make it harder
They need to win at least another 4 out of the last 7 to have a chance and if we drop one of the next two, we might find that a bit too difficult.
Well done to the ressies today for their exciting 1 point victory which ensured that we at least walked away from Mandurah with some reward.

A good effort by Swan Districts today, pity they couldn't achieve the quinella. Noticed they had 60 odd less Ball Disposals, 13 less Inside 50's and 42 less Hitouts for the match. And yet the difference at full-time only being 18 points. A positive aspect was good to see Swans kept plugging away by scoring more goals in the second half than the first.

Rookie draft wrote: We should have won by 10 goals. Bad kicking for goal and the maggots kept them in it but they never looked likely to be honest.

RD perhaps you should keep your ridiculous comments to the Peel thread where you moderate. There were at least 5 blatant free kicks missed by the umpires to Swans's forwards within 20m almost directly in front.

Also, did you happen to say hello to C Blakely down there yesterday.

Since you brought up the umpires given the performance of one particular umpire in the last quarter of the ressies one would be very tempted to say bring back D Sinclair all is forgiven.

Getting back to Swans I would be interested in hearing from other Swans's supporters about how Wilson, Faulkner, Yukich, Notte and Rogers played yesterday.

It was indeed free entry there yesterday; according to the person on the gate it was sponsored by McDonalds.

WAG there were some positives that came out of the game. Some negatives as well. I personally think that the time has come for some home truths be told to a Swans's player who is extremely talented but in my opinion is putting in about 50%. I will name the player this evening but I would like other supporters' thought of our performance.

Also, congratulations to the ressies team who showed great heart and poise in a win under extremely difficult circumstances kicking a A Dean goal after the siren from outside the boundary line.

Yes it was a fantastic win by our Ressies vs the real Peel League side yesterday 42....an incredible goal from Alby from an impossible angle on the boundary after the siren to win the game....good to see he went the normal set shot rather than kick a banana from that angle as many others would have done.

Just to add re the umpiring it wouldnt have changed the result as Fremantle were too big and fast at the end of the day as they should be being full time athletes but how on earth was Rogers not paid a mark (or a free kick) at the top of the goal square he clearly marked the ball I add whilst being tackled by a Fremantle defender who wasnt even looking at the ball at the same time???

An interesting onlooker at the game was their real gaffer who seemed to take more interest in the marketeer lasses (hopefully no comments were to pass) than his actual players on the park!!

BH I think Warwick Wilson should be playing at 9.15 am or 2.15 pm next Saturday. Personally, it should be the former.

Swan 42, I am not able to comment about the game yesterday because I wasnt there. However from what I have seen of Warwick Wilson this year I agree that there is a lot of unfulfilled potential there. I had thought that he was playing a bit more consistently than previous years but I sometimes question his effort during games. I would say his position may be a bit vulnerable given the performances of some of the players in the reserves yesterday. It looks like Taryce Stewart responded well to his omission and Alby Dean would have to be in line for a recall along with a few others who have been knocking on the door in recent weeks (eg Ridley,.Maguire, Erceg)

How did Gault go?....good opportunity to test himself against some AFL listed rucks....on current form he would be a better player on a list then the likes of McInnes, Jones etc....obviously SD wouldn't want him to leave, but seems to have a better understanding of the game, his body etc to get another AFL gig.....Looks like Darcy had a good game tho....

I have a very high opinion of Wilson as I am sure other supporters do. He has the ability to break lines and with a penetrating left foot he should be able to pick out leads from Noble, Gault, Rogers etc. but in my opinion he would be working at around 40%. I am not sure I would agree with your comment about Taryce Stewart. What I said about Wilson applies equally to another very talented player who should be in our first 22 players and if we have any hope we need both of them.

I thought Faulkner was disappointing. On a positive whilst he was never going to set the world on fire I thought Yukich improved as the game progressed given the opposition he was up against.

Whilst I have been critical of some of our younger players here is a comment that I will be interested to hear what those who were at the game think. We had fought back in the last quarter and midway through needing to kick goals and Notte has got the ball at centre half back and SIMPLY REFUSED to kick the ball forward. Instead he chose the modern footy way of SELFISHLY kicked backwards to another player so it was that player's problem. A couple of kicks later Peel get the ball and kick a goal.

And yes I do understand how good a player Notte has been and will continue to be but this is one of the blights on modern day footy that players are so unwilling to make a mistake and pass the problem onto someone else. Notte is by no means the only one. The same applies to players unwillingness to shepherd; instead they go forward to get a cheap statistic.
