There's a rather fearsome statue of a tiger on the street in front of the members entrance.......as well as a wall which portrays different eras of their history. Quite interesting I thought, certainly more interesting than what was going on inside the ground......

Perhaps I can critque the development first. The seats are comfortable and plenty of leg room are the positives. As to the negative after arriving about 8.30 am there was no respite from the sun until after noon. I suspect that if it rains there will be no respite from the rain. Also, I would have thought there was an occupational health and safety issue having cranes working so closer to the footy. As mentioned the tiger is quite impressive as well as their display on the front wall. Wasn't in a very good mood to take a good look at either.

As for the matches it has been a very long 6 consecutive matches. Perhaps Cary or Notte could have been thrown on the ball to see if we could get some momentum. Perhaps and I may be jaundiced but I am not sure that Taryce Stewart's form has been enhanced by his time in the under 18s.

It will be interesting to see the reaction on the selection table. One can only hope that whoever is promoted from the reserves is told they have an iron clad guarantee that they will be picked for three consecutive league matches rather than the Coniglio yoyo of in one week and dropped to the ressies the following week.

Cary has been pretty lazy in the past but yesterday playing forward wasn't easy and he was ok when sent back but agreed should have been tried in the ruck to give us some run.
Mid field has workers but no pace and Grescos and Watson turn it over every time coming out of defence.
Slater can run but spends his day near the boundary line.
Coach needs to sort it out as once the pressure came on yesterday we had no answer and too much left to too few and we are so slow to move the ball

MO are we moving to an alternative universe? A universe where Swans' forwards receive free kicks. A couple of questions. Which forwards put pressure on the Claremont backmen when they were trying to move the ball out of the Swans' forward line? How many Swans' players worked hard to get in a position to provide an avenue out of our backline? The answer was few if any in my opinion. Whlist Grescos and Watson have been mentioned by you and BH about turning the ball over and I like all Swans' supporters admire Faulkner's capacity to get his hands dirty is it time for him to understand his limitations and do the simple things well? And I suspect that it is not within his abilities to dummy left, dummy right and then handpass the ball over his head.

Of course, Faulkner, Gescos and Watson weren't the sole reason we lost. Whilst we did not play well in the first half we were still in the match at halftime due to Claremont's inability to convert their dominance into goals.

Finals are virtually done now so time to have a good look at all positions at the club over the next 9 weeks as we have been going nowhere since 2010!

I'm with you here BH. After yesterday's 3qtr time speech, insert reminder here " the most inept embarrassing performance not just in SD history but possibly in the history of the WAFL" , where does the coach go to from
here? That's as scathing an analysis from a coach I've ever heard in all my time in footy and the players didn't give a yelp for the final 30 mins. Not sure there can be any more tools left in the bag...seriously where to now from that?

Sorry to interrupt this thread, but I wonder what he would have said at 3/4 time if he was coaching Perth on saturday. 4 goals in front at half time playing a winless opponent with their 5 best players out injured. 8.8. to nothing up until the end of the third quarter when Perth finally scored a goal before the siren.

he has one game plan and his only move when we are struggling is to put Notte forward.
never tags the oppo best mid-fielder.
is a full-time coach and our skills are rubbish, no idea what he does all day.

Harding might be full time but unfortunately the players aren't to work on those skill defiencies unlike certain other clubs players!

BH -- not that being full-time has necessarilly improved skills among the AFL players. Should the next coach be part-time?
