Lets see how many of them train 5 nights then !

As it was explained to me, they aren't required to train 5 nights a week by the club. It's a player driven thing by the senior group with the object being to be the best in the WAFL, no less. Yes money plays a big part but the players have to buy in as well.

And yes I believe they are budgeting on 6 figure losses next year so belt straps are going to be tightened. 3 million will still buy them 10 more years of success if they keep spending at the current rate on the entire footy dept. Whether the WAFL is still being played in the same format as we know it now by then who knows. One thing I do know about Subi, they have some bloody smart operators running the club behind the scenes who hold decent clout in footy circles and operate with an eye to the future so don't expect them to fall down and die gracefully to appease other clubs. They will find a way to bolster their coffers and continue on their merry dance so time we other clubs smartened our act and do the same.

They are well run, no mistake about that. See the two years that they struggled was simply becuase Randall had to keep clean as Prez of $ubi to get his WAFC position, I have absolutely no doubt about it.

Leedy do you believe that West Australian Football Commissioners should be outwardly barracking for a certain side like that was witnessed at Bassendean on Saturday?

How can WAFL followers be certain and have faith that all WAFL clubs are being treated the same when you have a WAFC Commissioner outwardly barracking for a certain club that many have had suspicions on for a long time?

C'mon BH, he played for the club, his own blood sweat and tears were spilled, you can not hold that against the man. For the record I did not see him this past match and bloody darn glad I didn't. I've had my differences with Neil over the years and won't share them here but I admire the man for the passion he has for the club he once played for, the effort he has put in to them off the field and will not begrudge him barracking for the club he loves on game day. That would be grossly un-Australian.

Then he should remove himself as a WAFC Commissioner immediately if he wants to barrack for the club he played for mate.
In his current role he should be impartial (and definitely seen to be in public) otherwise sceptics like myself and others on here will continue to have our doubts that every club is treated the same in the WAFL!

Forget Neil Randall, lets about the footy. I will be interested to see if South Fremantle can repeat their round 1 victory against the Lions this week at Leederville. I think they are capable but they will certainly find it a lot harder than they did 6 weeks ago. It should be a fascinating contest.

Time for Swans to move on from this poor game and start focussing on next week. I am sure that the boys are really glad that there is a chance to redeem themselves quickly on Saturday rather than having the impending double bye to stew over the insipid performance against Subiaco.

Mikeh I am far more positive now than I was this time last year. Let me qualify that I am positive about this season; longer term I think it would be appropriate to quote the following:

"'We'll all be rooned' said Hanrahan
in accents most forlorn"

Yep unfortunately a byproduct of producing so many quality juniors is they usually get drafted sometimes locally and come back to bite us in an alignment clash DG....a bit like those former SD zone boys Blakely & Yarran doing a number on Subiaco in last years GF!! ;)
