I'd put Tallen on him, frees him up for a game, nobody gets the better of Tallen and Rudy knows it.... That's my alternate dream for the week, I don't like the 6+ goal version :P :silly:

DW,

I hope too fark that Ames plays on Rudy too, that would take him away from a Lourey or Kietel.

Howard and Notte are in fine form...be careful what you wish for....realistically though it won't be Tallen, who will be the lucky soul that gets to man up on Rudy...I was thinking maybe Wilson but he don't have the speed...guess it depends where Rudy lines up

Not a bad debut by Rudy last week for West Perth with 19 possessions, 7 marks and a goal. Unless he has improved his off ball skills I would suggest someone who can pressure him, not give him any space and run off him would be the goer. Grescos or Ugle may be able to do the job.

West Perth seem to have got back on track after their flogging by South Fremantle and will be very difficult to beat on their own patch. We have lost our last 4 at HBF arena and the one that still stresses me out thinking about was the day in 2015 when Swans were 26 points up going into the time on period of the last quarter but West Perth kicked 5 goals in 7 minutes to snatch the game as we basically stopped to a walk.

This is Swans best start to a season in 20 years. They have not won 4 in a row to start the season since 1997. In that year Swans won their first 6 games and 9 out of 10, but then lost 8 out of their last 10 games to narrowly miss the finals! Talk about a season in two halves!

Mike H, Im sure you blokes won 7 straight a few years ago ???

You are probably thinking of 2014 Leedy. Swans actually won 8 in a row that year from rounds 3 to 10 but they lost their first game versus East Perth. I was just talking about undefeated starts to the season and this is the best since 1997.

Didn't realise you dropped the Ferals game in R1 of 2014.

Will be a ripper game this one. I have seen Swans 3 times this year and they are evenly spread or balanced regarding individual performances. We have been less than impressive particularly the Souths game but we were sensational last week v Peel by ticking all the boxes in key indicators, that gives me optimism for this w/end.

Im hoping our small forwards and presence inside attacking 50 from our mids put pressure on the Swans defence. Last week v EF the only area that kept them in the game for mine was they were able to out run the swans tall timber defence, WP will need to do the same.

Really interesting match.West Perth have Swans normally covered at Joondalup. But Swans allways are pretty competitive on the trip up North.
Swans have been great in 17.West Perth form has been up and down so far in 17.So we will see what West Perth shows up.
Anzac Day round WP v Swans has built quiet well the last couple of years.Lets continue to build on that with a 3500+ crowd. And embrace this special Australian day.

As there is so much here I guess its not advisable to start a topic on the WP site - much the same will likely be said about this weeks game
Not to further enable players by name I observe this
Our forwards are showing some grunt and some newbies are getting their run under their belt - looks very solid. An X SD will be one to watch, just needs to get his ground game together and 'bend over' to get a ball, then hell be complete ;)
Our backs are showing a solidity after the SF shambles (good before that game and better after) Several players have improved marking skills and are joining to place heavy pressure on opponents
A couple of things
*One of our forwards still hasn't got his shit together... no result for the little effort shown
*One of our backs is the same and gives more than he gets .. sad pressure
* collecting statts - effective disposals for me every time - statts didn't help against SF and a 100+ smack
I see the SD have improved markedly since last year - their opposition this year to this point have been hit and miss opponents themselves at best I feel so the next 3 games for SD will tell a better story.. no doubt they have potent players and well praised individuals... WPths have more than a few who have just started to kick off and find their game and play :) .... a good game ahead and a good crowd in waiting me hopes!!!

My preview for this one - hoping to get the prediction wrong though.

Will be a tough game, thinking West Perth's run will cause Swans the most trouble

Matt Rogers not in the team announced so you would assume an injury. Ellis back in so he will probably play predominantly forward. One guy from West Perth who seems to always play well against Swans is Luke Meadows. He was the guy who sparked the last quarter fightback a couple of years ago. I notice he's playing forward on Saturday so our defence will have to keep it tight on him.
Two pretty well matched teams it appears.
