Claremont did what they will always do to us and other teams when we lack the intensity and desire to work off the ball and do the hard things. I would expect Harding to be less than impressed with our effort on Saturday.

I would like the opinion of those watching what they thought of Andrew Embley's game on Saturday. I would expect him to at Basso next Saturday playing for Swans against Perth.

With respect to the umpiring. A perfect example of how bad the umpiring is came in the colts' game. A Claremont accidentally made contact with Coniglio's head. A free kick was given - Correct decision. However, the orange umpire then proceeded to report the Claremont player. There was no malice involved, the impact was soft and there was no remonstration of the Claremont player by Coniglio's teammates. This is indicative of the umpires' complete lack of feel for the game. They came spot a player kicking out who has a nonemeter of his foot on the line but can't see the obvious.

Embers was there for the match fitness like last year, will be back with the Eagles this week..

Claremont played superbly on Saturday, tough game this week against the Demons..

not sure why Blight missed but Garlett, Cass, Faulkner and Rogers would all be in line to come into the league team..

Did Matt Rodgers play ressies for you last Saturday?

How did he go in the ressies?

I think it may have been his first game for you?

thought he went ok in the reserves as he didnt play at all in the 1st round so must have had some sort of injury..

Elari has been going ok, didnt realise he was so small until he lined up for Swans but he is a hard worker..

Good luck to them.

I think we may have replaced Elari (potentially) already, kid straight out of Colts Kieran Hug about the same size maybe slightly taller but hard at it but maybe slightly better disposal. Will look forward to seeing him develop.

Elari used to bug me with some poor disposal and at time ordinary decision making but make no mistake for a bloke that small he is as gutsy as they come. Ill think you will be pretty happy with him come the end of the year

We did okay with Barry Kimberley so here's hoping we have another good one or two from Perth.

Yes Kimberley really surprised me. I thought he was very ordinary for Perth. He fumbled a lot and didn't seem to have the skill to be a good WAFL player. However when he went to Swans he played in what, 2 or 3 premierships.
It just shows I suppose that if some players have a lot of classy players around them then their confidence grows.
