So the plan for Saturday is vote early and then get down to the footy to escape all the garbage in the media that election day brings. Back to reality for our guys after the euphoria of last weeks win over Peel minus the 'Mantle'. This week it is a rather uphill task against a team that is not playing at its absolute best but is still a formidable combination on its home ground.

I don't think Schofield was particularly happy with their performance against Claremont last week particularly in the first quarter so he will no doubt demand a more sustained effort in this game, which is probably not great news for Swans.

However on the positive side, our guys will go into the game with the confidence of having kicked over 100 points for the first time this season so they might just be in the mood to take it right up to Subi. Fingers crossed.

Barring injuries I can't see too many changes to the team although I wonder if Harding may be inclined to bring in Nuich after his useful effort in the ressies last week.

In the other grades we should chalk up a win in the colts and the reserves game is a critical one for both teams in the race for finals berths.

Massive challenge coming up Mike taking on a side with probably only around the 40% mark of local zone talent with the likes of Delahunty, Robinson & co due back thus joining Twomey, Lockyer, Sokol et al all back from their annual mid year sabbatical.
Lets hope our near 80% of local zone talent that run down the race on Saturday can at least be competitive against the foreigner$!

Actually given Subiaco's record over the past 10 years, Swans haven't done too badly against them. The only time we haven't beaten Subiaco at least once during a season over that time was in 2007 and 2011. Even in their invincible 2008 year we managed to inflict their only loss of the season (by 1 point) Some reason for optimism although as some subi supporters have pointed out, a loss to Swans is usually a good omen for a premiership..... :pinch:

There have been two games there since the Peel game including Subiaco v Claremont last week so there will be no problems with the ground. As expected the team hasn't changed much from last week, only Nelson Ansey drops out injured. Interesting that Graham Jetta has been named in the reserves. I know he was ill last week but I would have thought that he would be the type of experienced player who would go straight into the league team if fit? It is a possibility for us to upset Subiaco I agree but I think that this is a game they will not want to drop if they want to finish in that coveted top spot and the Lions will be very motivated to win this.

Mike the ressies would be a good win as Subi are above us on ladder. The Colts need a big win after the Peel draw.Colts by plenty.

The grounds not in great shape and never is this time of year with the workload it has, 6 games every weekend plus the womens comp and since the bloody Eagles demanded the surface and base be re-laid so it represents a Victorian ground with a clay base that doesn't drain!! But the last couple of fine days will help dry it out a bit but don't expect a picture perfect surface by any means, definitely a day for the long stops.
