But the view of a lot of outsiders not knowing the daily workings of the club is just stick with the young players. (Really no choice in that anyway) and keep in contact with the bus load of ex Swans players in the Afl.I have no doubt that Nick Natanui will finish his footy career at Swans where he started his career. As just 1 example of a player that will end up back at Swans in the future.
Also the question has to be asked can Swans get Swoop back from Melbourne where he now lives. To join the Harding+Malaxos coaching team. That 1/4 time spray on Monday would be right up his alley.

GTR , I think you'll have a long wait for Nicnat, baring injury I see him playing AFL till his mid thirties.

DD wrote: IMHO from an outsider I think Harding is getting off lightly and quite remarkable he recently got a contract extension. He clearly made an error of judgment in playing Elari as a small forward instead of in the guts where he does his best work it seems you guys have gone from bad to worse since his departure and if my memory serves correct you paid full dollar for him and chased him for a couple of years.

Agree DD....Harding is under question too right now. His statements re Newman early in the season, losing Elari and one has to question whether the players are responding to his methods are cases for review. I'm bemused he was offered a new contract mid season amongst this disaster of a year considering our financial situation however it's the players first who need to take ownership. As a player you just can never accept being beaten due to lack of effort week in week out. Not acceptable at any club let alone SD.

DW I've been reading comments on the Swans board for a while now and the words insipid, lack of effort, worst performance I've ever witnessed from a Swans side underly deeper problems and usually when there is lack of effort, lack of fight it means the coach has lost the support and belief from the player group and another thing I've noticed, Tallen Ames is a very good servant and loyal Swans man but I've never seen him play two worse games in our last two encounters.

Serious problems right across the board and usually SD are one of the fittest sides in the comp. Your boys look more like Perth sides of the past and Rudy Riddock is a classic example. When I watched the game again later one of your former players Brett Wolfenden clashed with Riddock who shoved him into the ground. When Wolfy got up he exchanged a few words and grabbed a handful of fat around his gut to highlight he's carrying a few extra kg's. CH 7 commentator noticed it said Wolfenden just gave Riddock a free skin fold test.

The buck stops with the coach who's making a lot of excuses but some things like fitness and effort there is no excuses for.

Nail on the head mate...every time Tallen came off the ground on the weekend he was gulping for air. Not sure if illness or lack of time in the middle previously but he looked far from the fitness level required for WAFL footy. Played out of position for sure and it showed...I did watch that first round at Lathlain and will add I've only ever seen him beat easily one on one like that once before against Abbott from Claremont a couple of seasons back. Has been an awesome servant of our club, an all time great in my eyes so how do we pick on TA for this current mess when he's in the twilight. Buck stops with the coach, we don't want excuses as members we just expect genuine effort which as all our mob on here keep detailing does not exist in 2016

Rudy has been a great disappointment to me DD. I was advocating for his inclusion for a fair while early in the season because I think he is a player that can kick that extraordinary goal or take a match winning mark, but the reality is that he is not fit and has had little impact since he came in. I just get the feeling that the majority of players are just going through the motions and they just don't care. Harding has lost them I think, especially since Elari's departure.

Yep mate I posted at the time a few weeks back that was TAs worst game in his career. There needs to be a big honesty session between players & coaches over the break to nut out the issues as for the talent we have at our disposal this is without doubt the worst performing SD side in my 36 years of following and that should be embarrassing reading for all concerned at the club!

Gents, it is mind boggling to me that football Clubs can not get their players fit.
PFC over the years have employed gurus like Matt Barber, ex WCE fitness guys and an assortment of so called experts.
We have been told by the Club guidance counselors, "we are the fitest we have ever been".
Despite this we have during games against the likes of Subiaco sat back on the boundary line and identified that our players were nowhere near as fit.
Nowhere near as developed in the body, too easily knocked off the ball.
Swannies have been far fitter than us in the past.
Still some of our ressies players supposedly desperate to prove themselves at league level are not fit enough for reserves let alone league.
In our case it has been a culture problem, but not just on the field.
Our off field "leaders" lack the culture to successfully run a football club.
Every player that runs on the ground at training or in a game should be prepared to run through a brick wall for their jumper.
This has been the problem at PFC for decades.
Hopefully we are on the right track.
My hope is that for you guys it is just a temporary hiccup.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!
