IF after last week we were nearing panic stations then a loss this Saturday and we will be there for sure! It may only be 2 rounds in but I'm resigned to the fact it's going to be a very long season for the Black Ducks and finals are only a remote possibility.

It doesn't get any easier this Saturday when we take on Peel, stacked with AFL listed players.

Burnham should get a gig this week and I wouldn't mind seeing Slater in the side for his pace. Young Watson is a chance to debut. Doubts remain about Simpson(anyone know how long he's out?) and will be interesting to see if Ames gets up and if Newman is back in.

Last week I was hoping for effort, this week I'm hoping to at least be competetive and see us kick some goals.

Peel are beatable despite the AFL listed players, just hit them hard with relentless physical pressure and they will throw in the towel. The AFL boys are more interested in avoiding injury than playing for the jumper.

That said, Peel by 60

I think that will be generous, I`m hoping we keep it under triple figures

Watson has been named in the 25. Mad dog mentioned him as a possible replacement for Tallen so there must be some doubt about him. Peels ins and outs are interesting in that Conor Blakely is an out but hasn't been named as an emergency for Freo {injured perhaps?} A few more such as De Boer may come in when the Dockers team is finalised. I just want a decent effort from the guys over 4 quarters and to try and get some goals. Will be tough to beat Peel but you just never know. One win can give them some momentum.

What Outer says is right, they wilt under fierce pressure which you guys can apply when in the right head space like you did to us last season on that hurricane day up at basso, you tackled us into the ground. Will be supporting you against the Freo crabs.

Good point SS but the main instigator of that fierce pressure on Subi that day was Ryan Davis who laid 20 tackles from memory and showed incredible leadership. I reckon that performance got him over the line with Gold Coast. In his absence I don't think Swans have got anyone who could replicate that. They are all honest triers but no one in Davis's class

Yes Davis was outstanding that day one of the toughest efforts I've seen with Clancy Wheeler not far behind him, Clanger nearly got us over the line when he rucked the second half and dragged the rest of the team along with him. Great game in atrocious conditions.

But that sort of mind set will serve your boys well against the Peelmantle prima donnas. If you get physical they will be constantly looking over their shoulders and hearing footsteps.

May not be much of chance but ya just never know in footy - I just hope the Basso boys scrag & smash the slimy bastards all day long and make 0/2 for the AFL scumbags this round
