Stan Moses, former president, general manager,colts coach and too many other titles to mention, passed away on the weekend. Stan was involved with Swan Districts from the mud 1950s, contributed a shield to the Junior zone, coached the colts to the premiership in 1957 & 58, was behind the successful 60th birthday celebrations at the Midland Westrail Workshops, and contributed a lot to football in general, as was indicted by his Life Membership to the WAFL in the 1970s.

Had the pleasure of meeting him through his family. Loved the club, seemed a great fellow. RIP

Sad to hear of another Swans great passing away

I had the privilege to sit down a few months' ago and speak to Stan and his wife about his recollection of Tom Stannage's career. Despite frailness, his mind was still sharp and the famous sense of humour was present. Such an enjoyable two hours or so.

Stan was also a legend at Bassendean FC where the pavilion is named in the great man's honour.

I never met Stan but am aware he was a passionate Swans and WAFL advocate. It's sad to see another legend of our great game pass away. Condolensces to his family.

Stan's funeral was held at Bassendean Oval this morning, with about 200 people attending. After the service the car did a lap of honour around the ground, going through the goals at the Guildford end, before stopping in the centre circle while the siren sounded three times.
A guard of honour was formed and applause broke out as Stan left Bassendean Oval for the last time.
