It would be an understatement to suggest that Swans need a win down at Shark Park this Saturday to go into the final series with a shred of confidence. 4 straight losses would not be a good mindset for players coaches or supporters.

The massive upside to this of course is if they manage to win, there will be a final played at Bassendean Oval, would be a great achievement I reckon from a team that was mooted by everybody preseason to finish on the bottom.

Swans need a bit more grunt and experience in their team this week, they were pushed aside too easily by the Bulldogs. I reckon Travis Casserley, Rudy Riddoch and perhaps Dylan Harvey could come in this week so that we have a little bit more of a physical presence in the game and players who are prepared to pressure the opposition when they have the ball .

This game is really vital for both teams really to demonstrate that they are not just making up the numbers in the top 4 and that they are capable of challenging Subiaco and the Eagles in the finals.

This happened 4 years ago and we still have people on this forum belly aching about this.

Mike, I think that if the EFFC 1 team roll up and with Swans not travelling too well atm, we'll win easily. However, if EFFC 2 roll up, then you really have to ask, should they be playing finals at all??
2x25= Seinor and Michael = 1xBrian Peake

True 58shark, fair to say that both teams haven't enjoyed playing at home in the last month or so! Having said that I am sure the Sharks would prefer to host the first semi and they can do that by winning both their remaining games or by beating Swans by about 8 goals with a narrow loss ( less than 2 goals) to Subiaco the next week.

Faulkner and Brandon Jetta are named in the reserves as well as the league squad so they will possibly miss out, good to see Casserly and Conor Blakely back. I was a little disappointed not to see Riddoch's name in the squad. He would have been good value this week I think.

Dalziell is a big in for the Sharks, he will make a real difference to their midfield. Harding will have to think who could nullify Brett Peake, who has been in good goal kicking form in recent times, maybe Simmo, Jetta or Ugle for that job?

Hard to imagine that Swans won by 10 goals the last time these two teams met. It was in round 8 and it seems like eons ago. Simmo, Davis, Jukes and Rogers played blinders and the whole team was like clockwork that day. Times have changed somewhat.......

Mikeh I have a good opinion of Riddoch; howver, what I think he needs is a really good pre-season to get himself really fit which will him the ability to give second and third efforts. If he does that I think he could very easily become an integral part of our league team next year.

What we desperately need is some class delivery out of our backline which we will get with Cass. I have been critical of Fualkner's disposal in the past but I thought he was really good after being dropped to the twos.

I think we will bounce back tomorrow to something like our early season form.

42, you would be a better chance to man up on Peake mate as it seems he comes from the outer and appears in the forward line when the ball gets down there !!!

Leedy, Peake has played that way all his career mate......quite surprised WP let him kick 5 goals the other week......not too sure what to make of this game, both teams definitely struggling in terms of confidence, especially so close to the finals.

SD to me, seem have on paper more options up front to kick goals....Timmy G loves playing the boys in blue/white......I guess if EF can contain him then they are half way there to beating SD.......touch wood it's a good contest.....
