They won 8 out of their first 9 games and since then have won 4 out of their last 10 games. 2 of those victories were last quarter steals when they had been outplayed all day. They have lost 3 games in the last 5 weeks to teams who are not in the top 4. I think they have nothing left in the tank. The only thing that would give them any confidence going into next week is that the Sharks are not in great form either but at least they beat West Perth at Joondalup

Much like the west perth game the boys simply did not show up ready to play and their efforts overall were poor. Poor kicking, poor decision making, just plain poor footy.

Taking absolutely nothing from South today. They played hard, determined, confident football today. They wanted it more and deserved the win, well done to them.

The only saving grace today was watching the colts play.

Having not missed a game all year I'll be down watching the boys next week hoping that they really show up ready to play with passion and pride.
As a supporter I by no means am giving up and hope the team can get it together.
But it is truly baffling how this team seems to have regressed from the start of the season rather than build upon the momentum of such great play.

I think it will be very interesting who takes the field next week.

Here's hoping for the best next week!!! I'd love to see the boys back at home for the finals and rather not have to make the trip down to east freo twice.

We were certainly outplayed and outworked by Souths today. I have been critical of Faulkner's and Jetta's disposal in recent weeks, both lifted today. Outstanding effort by Davus who was outstanding in the second half. There were a couple who may have played their last game in the league for the season.

There were a couple of examples today that demonstrated a belief that perhaps they are bigger than the team and might pay the price by being dropped to the twos. What we need to get back to is the basics where we play as a team and not thinking that their primary aim is to get drafted. Can we turn it around? I think we can; but it is up to the boys to get back to playing team oriented footy.

Also, to reiterate what has been noted that the colts were back to near their best footy in an outstanding win against Souths today.

The lack of accountability and pressure by our forwards when Souths had the ball inside our 50 was staggering. Souths were just allowed to have kick to kick easy footy on many occasions. This lack of effort put further pressure on our midfield and defence

As I said Mikeh we were pretty poor in our efforts for most of the game. How many players do you think will be dropped for the game next week Mikeh?

Swan42 having had overnight to reflect on the game, I don't think dropping players is necessarily going to do the trick. There are probably a few in the reserves yesterday who will come into strong consideration led by Trav Casserley, but overall the critical aspect for me is the fact that the team has gone away from the brave fearless footy they were playing early in the season.

I could sense early in the game how anxious and tentative many of the players were and you can bet that their opposition smelt this as well. It appears that the team having got itself into the finals has somehow lost its self belief. Their tentative approach is leading to poor disposal when they have the ball, missing targets, second guessing team mates and generally lacking flow in their team play.

I think the best thing that Harding could do this week is to try and get a video copy of the last quarter of the game against Subiaco at Leederville in May which in my opinion was the best footy I have seen Swans play since their 2010 flag and sit the players down in front of it to show them that they are capable of mixing it with the best but only if they play like they did that day.

It is an indictment on a lot of our League players that the majority of our Colts side have far better foot skills. I would pick Rudy for our next 2 games and play him in the midfield were we can better utilise his strong body & foot skills and also Cass & Connor to come back in if fit.

Agree with your Rudy comment BH....we need a bit of mongrel back in the side.

Yesterday South were driving Ferraris whilst our blokes were in Volvos. Way too slick for us. Just goes to show what can happen when you give your youth a chance. Haselby will be kicking himself he didn't get them in the side earlier in the year. The way we are going about it at the moment the season will end in 2 games time. We are playing jaded footy like the season can't end soon enough, the smiles are gone amongst the players, confidence is waning. It's what happens when week to week you have so many changes to the side. The WP loss has probably done more damage than first considered. Will take a truly remarkable turnaround from players and coaching staff to pull a rabbit out of the bag from here. Over to you Greg.........

The best thing for you blokes is for 1st Semi day to come around which will provide you with a fresh start to the "season", you have been going to play Finals for the past 10 weeks and it can be a long, drawn out process.
