All very well to say great game from a neutral perspective and good 3rd quarter fightback by Swans Yadda yadda yadda but as a Swans supporter who goes to see the team most weeks there was a familiar pattern about yesterdays match .

1. Another away loss, they have now lost 13 out of their last 14 away games, this is a real mindset issue. This game was almost identical in nature to last years Good Friday game
2. Fade outs during games which ultimately necessitates them to play catch up footy. A better team than East Perth would have buried us by half time.
3. Poor levels of skills under pressure, rushed kicks and handballs which makes it easy for the opposition to defend
4. When push came to shove in the last few minutes with the scores tied, East Perth found a way to score and then hold off Swans in the last desperate seconds. This happened a number of times in away games last year.

It is very frustrating for supporters to see patterns of play week after week that you assume would be addressed by the coaching staff but seem to be repeated once the pressure is on.

Preun certainly needs time to stamp his style on the squad but yesterday looked a lot like the 2022 Pickering game plan to me with the same flaws on show.

Frustrating, and a win that had to be secured if we're to move from the middle of the road to serious contender. Teams like Claremont and Souths will not leave the door ajar like EP - no offence EP supporters - did yesterday when Jones was out of the ruck for too long in the third quarter that allowed us back into the match.

Well done Clarke, whose long-sleeved guernsey seemed everywhere, and Glass, who I thought rucked well and got better as the day progressed.

It was good seeing McLachlan and Morris at the game yesterday.

Looking forward to seeing what Mclachlan can offer the team. Potentially a good nucleus for a big man brigade with Glass- McCasker, Germs, Morris and Doc. Ireland has potential to be a key position player. I had forgotten we were also missing Collins yesterday who is a key factor in our defence. Hopefully some of these guys who were missing can come into calculations for the match against East Fremantle next Saturday.

Jonesy was definitely the difference between the 2 teams, and this new throw up rule  is perfectly tailored for him,and i can really see him dominating the centre square and give our onballers first use of the ball for the remainder of the season,Jonesy's one major weakness is normally his overhead marking, but yesterday it was uncharacteristically right on point, and his intercept marking was one of the main reasons you guys just fell short, but the positives for the Black Ducks is the form of Clarke, who for mine is the best midfielder in the competition, and the string bean forward Edwards definitely has a bit of the freakish x factor about him.
