DD - the bhp money goes towards funding and employing people in the Pilbara to run community programs.
Now the funding has ceased so those people are no longer Swans employees.
Pretty simple folks you get money to run community programs and then you employ people so therefore they are employees.
Swans have helped Perth set something up in the metro area and South have the Stephen Michael foundation running programs, plenty of govt and business money out there for these programs

Thanks MO but those 30 employees aren't working for SDFC WAFL operations are they? Most of them are working for these programs which are funded by BHP which you are paid to run and employ people to run them, so as I see it, in effect you have profited enormously from this BHP backed program.

Put another way, if BHP pulled out a year earlier there would be no 800k Jobkeeper profit.

Good luck to Swans on their amazing profit because its a major positive for the overall health of WAFL competition having financially stable clubs, but i can't understand how the windfall for a wing funded by the BHP helped SWANS capitilize on a 30% decline in turnover jobkeeper subsidy?????

Not all of the community employees are funded thru the bhp grant, there are community employees in the metro region, Onslow and Roebourne. The Newman and port hedland staff lost their jobs when bhp cut funding at the end of 2020.
There are 8 staff still there on the website but loss of funding meant job cuts same as any other business that has employment that is directly linked to grants and funding

Quite amazing how much cash has been stashed away across the board with this overly generous Covid give away.

Its not hard to make a quid when the tax payers are paying your bills.

I thought SFFC had done well with a 400K profit, but upwards 1 Mill is a out there figure for a WAFL club.

Just imagine how much is being rorted out there by business and households, SCOM MO was asked about this at his presser conference yesterday, if business will have to pay back tax payers funds if they have profited from Covid funding, his reply was he is not into Envy Politics, cant make this stuff up, pity he didnt say that with robbo debt.

Claremont made 560K apparetly anyone else know other returns?

And there you have just nailed the hypocrisy of the government. Chase down the poor individuals who in many cases had no debt but the system was stuffed. But don't worry about asking businesses who were profiting from the loopholes in Jobkeeper to repay what they earned
