Good question AR, I am thinking Jye Bolton (CL) in 2016 may have been another to join the likes of Haydn Bunton Snr (SU) 1938, John Todd (SF) 1955 & Sam Fisher (SD) 2020 in winning the Sandover Medal in their very first season of WAFL League footy.

Toddy is the real standout there, first actual league season and 17 years old, the others had played senior footy elsewhere. Only saw him late in his career after he blew his knee, he must have been some sort of player before that.

What I found bewildering is there must be 25? tv stations within the metro area!
And not one of the bloody useless plonkers can televise the Sandover Medal count?!!
One of the biggest nights of the sporting year completely ignored by the tv stations!!
What bloody good are they!? Bloody hopeless

That was a great effort by Scranno Jenkins SF4L.
AR you are quite right JT should be lauded for his achievement and being only 17yo as well, it is quite incredible when you think about it and a crying shame his knee injury a year later probably prevented us from seeing the greatest player of all time, that he managed to still play 132 games is a credit to his mental toughness and self belief.

Syd "Sammy" Clarke won the Sandover in his first two seasons for Claremont in 1933 and 34. He was unfortunately killed in the war.

We might have the clubhouse leader here TOO.
Outstanding performance by Sammy.
