Managed to catch Football Manager, Brad Dodd on 91.3 SportsFM this morning and they asked him a question about the list and whether they've started looking a recruiting targets for next season. Interestingly he mentioned they've been to Melbourne twice to meet players and they're chasing Midfielders. I would've thought the Midfield is an area of strength- I think we need to look at Key Backs myself.

Could be looking at better delivery from the mids mate.....obviously Kommer, Boekhorst, Eardley, Jansen, Snadden and Bennett are locks for next year one would think.....tho have heard a few in there are guilty of spraying the ball around a bit....do agree tho that key backs need to be bolstered....surprised young Cam Davidson hasn't had a game yet.....could be a chance this weekend perhaps.....I wonder if Geelong self implode over the finals that might end the career of Harry Taylor....he is out of contract thus year....obviously a long shot, but a season or two from Taylor would be a godsend.....definitely need to top up and lop the squad tho.....think Bill would have fair idea of who he wants now.....good to see the club on the prowl already and a few boys already resigned for next year

Need a key position back; an 'A' grade midfielder and a 1st ruck to replace Griff who I think will retire at seasons end.

Rock, if Griff were to retire(playing out of skin at present), surely Luke Strnadica would step into the void with Nic Watson as back up? Watson has served a good reserves apprenticeship this year after dominating in the colts in the previous two years, one of which was that 2017 colts flag win....at 197/8cm, Watson is a decent height for the WAFL, quite mobile from all reports...also Teakle stands over 200cm(skinny tho) and served a bit of an apprenticeship in the reserves this year as well....what is the deal with Loersch?...did he sign for 2 or 3 years initially?...if the former, it will be interesting if he sticks around, as on paper he has all the dimensions to dominate in the WAFL....struggled to stay on the park in both years so far, which is a pity.....wonder if Sandilands for a year would be a possibility...though at 38 probably not the way to go future wise for the club....but experience wise would definitely be an asset for sure.

One would think the likes of Sharp, L Jackson, Rivers and Ruscoe are draft definites, with other draft trial invitees in Warner and J Jackson possibilities....also notice young EF tall in Reuban McGuire has been invited to the state combine as well....Warner and Jai Jackson are tough inside mids, whilst McGuire at 195/6cm is KP potential. Be interesting to see if Dylan Curley hangs around next year, talented x factor sort, who has played as an over aged colts player this year....debuted league wise under Wiley in 2018, not so with Monaghan.. Curley, whilst not KP height, does have the leap to play like a KP in the WAFL....will be interesting to see if he has the motivation to play WAFL seniors though once out of the colts set up....I see Jesse Mirco keeps kicking goals for North Freo in the A grade....had an array of injury issues under Wiley, perhaps he may be enticed back to the club under a new regime for some WAFL footy?....but yep can't have enough KP talls or quality mids, thus hopefully Monaghan and Dodd can work some magic and snare EF a couple of gems.

Yes and No. We seem to rack up hit outs and obviously look better when we have Eardley, Kommer, Jansen, Boekhurst, Bennett to feed off of that but are lacking in inside 50 marks from the talls. Also this could well be big Griffs last year as a player at the club. If we lose Kommer at the end of the season a replacement for him would be needed too. Hopefully he will stay on.

I'm pretty sure it was on the club Website last week that Kommer had re-signed for 2020 and Boekhorst til 2021. No word on Griffin.

Footyfan2 wrote: What’s the go with Harrold, Burton and Cuneo? During Wiley’s time they were regular league players. Hebiton, Bailey and Fletcher played regular reserves footy. No doubt the above mentioned won’t be there in 2020. We need a key back! Bill has invested a lot in Jupp to get him play consistent footy, at best an average player who can’t kick.

If you had taken the time to watch our games before commenting you would have seen that Juppy has well and truly repaid Bill's investment and that his positive aspects outweigh any negative.

Footyfan2 wrote: Sorry mate I got it wrong......backs doing a great job even though we’ve only won 4 games. (Beaten bottom team Swan Districts twice). This time last season we’d won 2 games. PS as a past player and keen supporter of the boys I see most games.

As a past player and someone who has seen most games you really ought to realise our backs are the least deserving of blame for our 4 league games won so far.

Obviously your’re at every game. Who’s to blame mate? Billy? Doddy?

Why do i have to blame anyone in particular? - considering footy is a team sport that just seems completely irrational. I am sure as hell not going to blame Jupp or our backs over our mids or forwards.
