Looks like it could be an interesting day down at Steel Blue this weekend...EF chasing their first win of the season and due a win after 14 + losses on the trot.....George no doubt will be keen to show all n sundry...on top of telling all n sundry what a plonker Bill was for showing him the door at Moss St.....Bill just keen on securing his first win as EF coach. All 3 games look to be potentially good close contests.....lots of state boys(if available) on show in the colts game....SD had a great win v Subi reserves whilst EF reserves have a record of 2/3 with all 3 losses by a kick...

Griffen should be back, will be need to be to help Strnadica and his battle v Blakely and Gault....with the skipper back it will allow Strnadica to play up front with Loersch to help stretch SD defence.....though Gault up front will definitely stretch EF defence....EF mids will need to work hard to keep Hampson under wraps, no doubt George will pick up his usual mountain of possessions.....just got to make sure most of those possessions are rushed and ineffective. Kommer will be better for the run v WP, Boekhorst will be keen to have a good game back at his old footy home....Schofield back in no doubt....I think EF might have a few more back from injury, so might be their strongest available squad so far.

A win may hopefully kick start EF 2019 season.....sounds like poor skill errors hampered EF in the WP loss, especially during that 2.5 3rd term....another game and another chance to start a fresh and get their 2019 started....tho SD are 1/4 with a more than healthy percentage, so obviously they could easily be 4/1.....good luck to both sides on Sat.

It's a pity this is not a stand alone fixture Freezin. I think a lot of neutrals would go to this game including myself. I reckon Boelkhurst will cop plenty of stick from the Swans members area and the can bar. Hopefully it's the telecast game for these reasons. Then you can stream it online our WAFL NZ delegate. Lol
Hopefully Bill or any EF players don't call George a girl. They might cop a 10k fine or does that only apply if you call an umpire a girl?

Certainly be interesting, may have to check it online also. There may be a little extra in this contest.

Be good if the Swan Districts leadership added a bit more spice and allowed George some space on their website to preview the game and give us all some further insight into his vision.

Anyone know why Schofield was dropped for the Joondalup match?

I’d say form. I’ve seen 3 of his 4 games and he’s been poor (though missed Peel game which looked like his best) Not in this week either

It is interesting with Schofield, he did get dropped against Peel and got a fair bit of the ball in the resies. Although that's just looking at the stats without knowing how he actually played.

Schofield was excellent against Peel. He was ordinary in the derby but so was everyone wearing blue and white. I didn't see the Joondalup match but his stats in the ressies can't be faulted. I don't understand why he his not getting a run through the middle considering our inability to get our hands on the ball.

He’s had games where he’s had 13 and 11. Not great for someone with his talent and experience. Doesn’t work hard enough to be a Mid. But had a great Ressies game so hopefully he can back it up again and be back in the team. Great to see Bailey and Scott in the squad.

Whilst great to see Scott playing, interesting selection considering he is coming from a fair way back fitness wise...from memory he had an interrupted preseason and has only played 2 reserves games, missed the WP game with an ankle injury playing basketball and kicked 2 goals for the Rovers footy club in the GNFL last weekend. ....Bailey should play to help provide the defence with some height one would think...can't see Bonomelli getting dropped after a 2 goal debut v WP.....but definitely need some speed to match SD smaller brigade surely?

I see O'Reilly is out....Bray is still out as is Cuneo...also Holmes is out.....yet none of them are in the reserves or on any injury list that I can see....side does look better with Griff back, allowing Strnadica to go forward.....definitely need some goals from Loersch and Strnadica as well Ryan and Manning....can see Simpson kicking a few v EF, scoreboard wise he hasn't done much for SD that I have read....due a bag no doubt

Great to see a W along side East Fremantle on the scorecard instead of a loss.
Apparently a good match across there at Bassendean this arvo.
Swans only having 242 Ball Disposals for the match which seems rather low.
