Well done to the Gummies, scrappy game at times but EF with too much class, better ball use, heaps more pace and more options up forward. umpires still too quick to award the marginal free kicks, over umpired again but no effect on the result. Overdue win after 13 years but on that performance (from both sides) it wont take another 13 years.

Well done to East Fremantle. Much too good. Enjoyed the day though. Good entertainment in the Shark Pit and not a bad turnout overall all things considered. Got to see one win at least and that was in the last few seconds of the Development squad game under lights - which by the way - are more than decent for football. I'd say as bright if not brighter than Leederville lights.

I watched the replay when I got back to Perth last night. I thought that a couple of the EF boys didn't follow up with 2nd attempts at times and were a little casual. I still wonder how young Brennan got picked up by the Eagles. There's something about him that, I believe, is a bit concerning - just what, I'm not sure atm. LH, I would be interested in your (and anyone else that wants to be constructive) comments on the above.

3 from 3 and the monkey off our back.

I good start to the day with the colts boys winning an entertaining game of footy. We got off to a flyer and had control of the game throughout. Subi were always going to be tough and to their credit came back at the end but just fell short. Subiaco's Michael Wood is certainly a star and will go in the draft for sure. I thought we over did the handball at times but then we also played some great footy with some very slick handball and quick movement from half back and through the middle. I was surprised when I saw the stats where he had 91 more handballs (170 -79). Green & P.Cripps were outstanding again with solid support from Regan & Barone. Tyler Sutton was moved from the backline to FF in the absence of injured FF Mitch Stewart and was a great target; however he let himself down with some wayward kicking (2.4). All in all another win against quality opposition.

The Ressies produced a 10 goal second half to take the 4 points. Kieran King played his best game of the year. Ricciardello, Depane and Perham all provided solid targets up forward.

The league game started in ominous fashion with Subi kicking the first 2 goals and thought oh no here we go again. To the boys credit we bounced back quickly and led by 13 points at qtr time. We continued with an 8 goal 2nd qtr and finished the game in the last with another 8. ROB and Gouthy were terrific again with the whole team having no passengers. Great team effort with 18 of the 22 being home grown players which made it an even more satisfying win. Daniel Kerr played well without being brilliant. Was very happy with the players who came up from the Ressies in A.Tropiano (21 disposals), Schoefield (21 disposals), Cooper (solid from the back pocket), Boyle (4 goals), Hancock (17 disposals on debut) and Jansen (honest game in the backline). Simpson & Lester-Smith both continue to impress with 4 goals apiece. The position I had a real worry after round 1 was with our ruck, but the continued improvement from Cameron Symonds has me thinking the big fella will only improve and solve our ruck problems. On a lesser not let's hope the leg injury to Tommy Howlett is only minor. He came off in the 2nd qtr and didn't come back on even though he had his knee strapped and sat on the bench.

Great day for the club and now to knock off an in-form Perth.

Great to beat Oobi Doobi - no more cooking their dinner! Just a bit concerned about the climbing injury toll with Young (a crucial player for the Sharks), BOB, Menegola, Ibbotson and now Howlett getting injured in three games. Hopefully we can get through the game at Lathlain without injury. It's always disappoining to see any player from the seven WAFL clubs out injured.

Enjoyed Hancock's performance and thought Simpson did really well.

Tragic how bad are some of those boys injuries? Realistically if the likes of Menagola, Ibbo, BOB are fit to come back and most probably Brown and Dalziell will get the flick after that WCE loss, can't see how 5 guys deserve the flick after that performance by EFFC. Kerr will be needed by WCE, Brown deserves a decent run of WCE games, probably Dalziell as well, but I don't think they will get them.

Good to see a second 3/0 clean sweep through all the grades, even better with all those AFL outs, some of the local boys showed they have the ability to step in pretty seamlessly....yeah I agree with you Rock re:Symonds, Young being out for a while proved to be a blessing in disguise, it might fast track the kids development and also MacDougalls to.

Great team effort. We seem to play better without lots of AFL experienced players.

Has Lester-Smith grown over the off season?. He, Duffy and Simpson are all fairly tall for small forwards.

I think Brennan was recruited for his vigour. There are a lot of guys playing for the Sharks with better skills and natural footy ability.

Hard to say how long Freeze. Neither Ibbotson or Menegola listed as injured on Freo's website and unfortunately the Sharks seemed to have gone backward a bit re keeping supporters informed about injuries this year. Be interesting to see how bad Howlett is as his knee was heavily strapped when he went for a run at half time. Didn't come back on.

I only saw the last half of the ressies but got to say that Brad Dick was waaaaaay more mobile than what he was last year. I mean, he was on the ball and running around pretty freely. Looked promising although his stats were nothing special. I was even impressed with some of Jack Perham's efforts as he seemed to be competng heaps more than last year. No, I wasn't drinking.

Well done Sharks - Totally out played us - a well deserved win !!!

Enjoyed my time in the Shark Pit (not as much as the last 13 years though)
Subi played as cold as the beer - Ice cold !!! "There was a Freeze in the air ???"

All the best and sorry we didn't make a game of it - See you next time
