Great effort that couldn't be sustained. Its been an issue for a few seasons now.

WP after the bye- hard to see where the next win is coming. I counted 7 players under 10 games today- future looks good if they stick around.

They were good for 3 qtrs last week too Dwert with their pressure a win is not far away...moving Marsh into the midfield has been a good move, will be at either Freo or WCE next year for certain.

Did very well for the first 2 1\2 qts and then went to sleep. Had the breeze in the last qtr which I thought would give us a chance, unfortunately we lied down and got embarrassed. There were some positive signs which hopefully we can build on. Our skill errors are still a huge worry and from players like Marsh & Eardley who have been on AFL lists???

Bennett did very well on debut, however pulled out a few times when he needed to put the body on the line.

Marsh tries to take on too many and gets caught which Wiley needs to address.

Moreno, Mirco & Watson had no impact playing forward.

Holmes looked out of his depth.

Marshall tried to tag Kelly which didn't work. Not sure anyone can stop Kelly as he is a very classy player.

Read is a worry. Slow and a very bad decision maker.

Not sure of Stevo's role playing forward but did like his aggression.

Howson & Stokes didn't impress me enough in the ressies to get a call up. Howson did take a few nice marks but his kicking letting him down.

Having LA out and McNamara pulling out just before the game didn't help.

Can definitely beat WP in a couple of weeks and give the boys some fire in the belly to cause some upsets throughout the season.

Cardy wrote: Bad luck Sharks watched the game on TV. Great effort and a work in progress. I was supporting you that might not of helped :) I could see the skill differences between the 2 sides. EF fought a battle and SF played football.
The Battle is not lost as from it the coach will work on the problems and even though 2017 is lost you can only get better. Well done to your boys for busting their guts and I mean that as I noticed fitness was a problem towards towards the end.
Dont want to Harp on but the end result will be Subiaco v ?. Maybe SF
The WAFL has turned into a joke. The money club Subi and the 2 Alignments have destroyed t he WAFL as we know it.
Dont blame the coach or the committee at EF as they are fighting a WAFC who have done their best to Destroy the WAFL.

Will watch the fixtures and get down to the Shark pit for a game to enjoy the mateship and Fun.

I think you have it wrong way around, SF beat Subi in a canter by 40 points so it should read Souths v maybe Subi. If we beat Souths by at least 40 points next time then perhaps we get equal billing with them and then there's the other team on 1 loss .. SD who should not be excluded from this equation.

Marsh may well be playing at a higher level next year, but should he have been playing this week? And is it me,or is the WAFL Tribunal delivering a Soft Touch yet again at League Level?

I did see that he got reported V PTH Grassy. You of the opinion he should have copped a penalty?

How long can Wiley keep going with Crichton??? I know he may play a defensive role at times- but is that what is best for the team?? He averages 11 touches this year- not good enough for a player of his ability. His tackle count, though early days, is down 50% on last year.

Schleicher , Harrold and Delaney all had reasonable games in the reserves. Maybe time to give them a go and leave them in for a period of time.

Cheers for your input Dwert and other opposition posters as well........congrats on the SF win....obviously class won out on the end and SF do look to have a lot bases covered across the ground.

If Wiley has this 5 year plan on the go.....perhaps it's time for some more youngsters to be given more game time and persisted with....Bennett, Green,Harrold, Howson, Parish, Burton, Bailey, Harding etc .....have a lot of the "senior" players regularly used in the past reached their playing potential....eg: Crichton, MacNamara, Read, Jupp etc....obviously experienced guys but have they gone as far as they can with EF and any future success the club may have.....tough decisions but Wiley must surely change things up.

Not saying to deplete the side of all experience, but hey keep a percentage of experienced guys(LA, Hampson,Marsh, BOB,Eardley, Schofield, Watson etc) and surround them with youngsters and see if they can gel and turn some results around....something needs to be done.....obviously the effort is there, just not the ability to maintain that intensity to finish off games.....
