KCEF posted the rumour of Peake retiring and Wiley also walking if we lost to Swans today. As for the list manager/footy department surely like any business poor performance they come under pressure also. This season we are 0 - 4 and face South next week, last year the club fell away poorly and in 2015 finished in the bottom 2 or 3. We also had the Stav walk out brought on by senior players apparently, not a real recipe for success if players are calling the shots.

Peake approached South at the start of the year so he is no loss, heart wasn't in it.
Symonds very good today and get the best 18/19 year olds out of your colts and drop them in your seniors, Sharks have a good junior history, get them in your senior team and build for the future

It wasn't me that posted those rumours- Grey Fin did on the Perth thread. He was right about Peake- hope he's wrong about Wiley. The other thing was that the club not only lost Stav in 2015 but the entire Senior coaching staff. There was a bit of experience lost there.

Overall a very competitive effort. You couldn't fault the players endeavour. Our first four entries into the forward fifty were butchered or missed their targets during the first 5-10 minutes before Swans made their first forward 50 entry for an easy goal. Swans skill level, in general was better throughout the game. With five players in the side who have made their league debut so far this season it was an improved performance. Whilst we have some way to go to match the top sides Wiley is trying to blood some youngsters.

A fairly handy player in Sam Taylor was missing for Swans yesterday too Freeze ;) on a AIS/AFL Academy junket but yes your Colts totally outplayed us yesterday.

On a pointless tour of Ireland by any chance? :pinch:

Melbourne I believe Grassy as apparently it is more important than getting actual games into these kids  ...only 2 boys from WA in Sam Taylor (SD) & Jake Patmore (CL) made this seasons Academy.

Grassy wrote: Good that they're only pinching 2 out of the system, but is that the AFL manufacturing a case against our system, saying "Look, only two of your boys from your Entire State are good enough for the Academy. All the more reason for you to change."?

Funny you say that Grassy as that is exactly what (paid WAFC employee) Peter Sumich said on Footy WA this morning
Anyways choosing these boys for these Academies at age 16/17/18 is all subjective (by Kevin Sheahan & Vic mates) I would like to see how it all pans out 10 years later....because as it stands WA has produced the following-

The 2 best key forwards- Franklin (PE) & Kennedy (EF)
The 2 best key defenders- Rance (SD) & McGovern (CL)
The 2 best ruckmen- Sandilands (EF) & Naitanui (SD)
Arguably the best midfielder- Fyfe (CL)

Also 2 of the last 3 Brownlow Medallists were from WA- Fyfe (CL) & Priddis (SU)
The last 2 Coleman Medallists- Kennedy (EF)
Last years Norm Smith Medallist- Jason Johannisen (EF)

So much for WA being a bad developer of football talent  ...and the Sharks have been right at the forefront with some of those Old Easts boys listed above!

BH: that is a very good post: you should send it to the WAFC and the AFL. I noticed Subi have won a couple of games in the colts. I think they have been listening to you.

If the BCG mob had done their homework thoroughly AR they would have also come up with the same facts as I mate...but I dont think that was their charter unfortunately!
Looking forward to seeing your Colts as they look to have a good crop coming through this year also WP look to have improved immensely which is good to see hopefully the WAFC is taking note that EVERY WAFL club is doing their darnedest to develop their kids.
