Will miss George Hampson though...need both BOB and Hampson back fit and firing to be competitive this season...good time to play Cl with Lee out....also no Cameron....Darcy killed us every time we played Cl last year...

No Mirco. No Fahey. No McCarrey. Howson in but has been tried before- pretty much wheeled out the same old forward line. Can't see where the goals come from but otherwise, pretty close to full strength (BoB and Hampson out)

KC....Howson has only played 3 games!...from memory kicked a couple v WP in one of those games and since all Freo listed players were due to relocate to Peel the next year, Stavros didnt bother to pick him because he wasnt going to be around.....the kid kicked 50 odd goals in the colts, then 40 in the reserves the following year.....been illness n injury prone got to give him a dash, especially at 197cm.....

......think you mean been there done that with the likes Jack Perham mate.....reckon Mirco instead of Perham and EF have Watson, Mirco and Howson up front with the likes of Peake and Hampson and BOB at their feet......even Moreno deserves a shot at some stage.....Perham to me is too short for a key position role.....plus leave Watson as a key forward and let Symonds and Stokes ruck......

I thought Howson performed quite well against a very well credentialed and experienced East Perth defence last week. He consistently made good position, competed well and took some good marks.

If you are going to keep playing Stephen in the reserves then send him over to Lathlain. He can reunite with Tropo.

Maybe a bit harsh on Howson. My point is, we constantly recruit in players and then don't play them- going with the same guys that have always failed us (Yes, Perham). Howson has been around. Lets give Mirco/Fahey or McCarrey a chance.
Stephen is a strange one- like his steadiness back there. Still, haven't watched much of the trial games so not sure how he's been going

Hopefully Howson comes out and kicks 5!

yes have to agree with you KCEF too many players have been around for awhile
and haven't delivered Perham is far too inconsistent would have been lucky to have played a dozen good games too lazy and doesn't impose himself on the play.

If our best 22 aren't on the park I think we're going to have a tough year.

Guys like Stokes, Stephen, LA, BOB & Hampson IMO are in our best 22 and will make a huge difference to the one that played on the weekend.

I hope Mirco & Moreno get their opportunities sooner than later.

Unfortunately I have to disagree with you Footyfan. Of those mentioned Bannister is the only one that I think could have pushed for a spot in our best 22 this season. Chalwell, Hooker & Holmes are reserve players at best. Solomon did well in his first game for SF but who was he up against? Lets see how he goes against better more experienced rucks.

Spot on Rock....Bristow deserved his number one ruck position last year with some huge performances..no way Solomon was gonna get that gig...Symonds is bigger and just as mobile as Solomon, thus Jake was going to play 2nd fiddle there because no team plays 2 specialist rucks from the looks of things..plus he had SF connections apparently....so that is life....

Out of that lot, for me Jacob Green sounded like the one on the verge of clicking at league level last year, but he moved on and that was with him getting games....

Pull the pin on Perham for present and give Mirco a go..roll the dice with Howson for a few more games I reckon..but definitely need LA, George,BOB and Stephens,especially the middle 2 for quality ball skills, on the park to be competitive...we missed out on a finals spot by one game last year don't forget..and I reckon our depth is better tall wise than last year....Wiley just got to get the selections right by rewarding effort and making players earn their spot by being switched on for longer periods..not just flashes during a game and if that means dropping some established names than so be it.
