interesting to see how the players react to the malaxos departure

ins & outs this week could be forced
read - come off with a tight hammy
brock - come off in the last with a knee

will dalziel come out of retirement?

looking fwd to the team announcement this week

obviously listings in the footy budget cant be rock solid, but Dalziell still listed as 22, McGough in both reserves and league......colts captain Luke Perry wearing number 4 and 16 in the league listing!.....good to see some more new names in the colts list.....McGrath is 199cm plus at 16 and in the WA 16s squad, be interested to see if he gets a run......also state boys from the recent SA game in Bennett and Strnadica listed as well.......

TBH if SD cant beat EF this weekend then they are useless and their season is well n truly farked......EF is there for the taking, players under a shed load of pressure to perform, especially if they are the central power brokers in Malaxos resignation.....no excuses now, hopefully some vibrant hard at it footy to be showed v SD......if not then a few Malaxos devotees will be quietly smirking in the corner.......big game for both clubs.....make or break and with EP and Cl to come......nice to win all 3......definitely a minimum of two wins.....gonna be a big ask tho.......

considering East Freo have won more games than Swans despite the players thinking the coach had no idea one would think now that the person they believe is repsonsible for their losses is gone then surely they will improve.
otherwise why would they have written the letter to get him removed if they didnt think him not coaching would improve them ?
the East Freo players would be the happiest they have been all year.

Surely Freezin you must be aware that when a coach resigns or is sacked the usual consequence is that it tends to galvanise the players and give them more focus on the field. The result is usually a much better effort for the new coach making him look like a genius and more often than not, a thumping win.

From Swans point of view I would have much preferred if Stav could have hung on for another week if the players were so unhappy with him. I now have the sinking feeling that Swans may face the full fury of a team playing with a lot more freedom on Sunday. Our boys need to be ready for a hell of a challenge and I'm sure they will because they are risking losing touch with the top five if they lose too many more games.

I had a look at the recent head to heads between these two teams and of the last 10 games at Shark Park, both teams have won 5 each ( amazingly this stat is exactly the same at Bassendean as well 5 - 5) even though many of these games have been lop sided one way or the other.

Should be a desperate game with both teams needing the four points.

Hampson out is a big loss, he led SD defenders a merry dance last time these two met.....good to see Fraser Perry on an extended bench......SD side lookes pretty good for me, gonna be working hard this weekend scoring a win here......BOB up forward is nice to see with Hampson out can't see Chartres and Bristow causing Ames and Notte too much grief TBH.....perhaps the bench may be LesterSmith, Ellis, Schleicher and Fletcher/Perry....

That reserves squad looks awfully thin.....

Hate to say this but but loyalty, supporters and Admin is a big part of the club
Something we have at WPFC.

And something that SD have.. Sad for the EFFC club that this has happened.

I agree with Mitsi 91.3 who says that Steve is not the type of walk out unless pushed.
See post on WAFL WORLD 10 June and I agree with him entirely

Malaxos did nothing wrong with a 50/50 record at this time of the season

Ok the players will have something to prove this week but will it prove anything?

I tip SD Win the game without Malaxos leaving.. So what will this prove?

Nothing.

I wish the best to both teams and it should be a good game,
SD need to win this one big time and they will do it for their coach and their club.

I am going to the game and suspect it will be a subdued bunch I will be with.

Not going to make an issue of the Coaching change as this happens in footy but doesnt smell right and I am sure the guys I have a beer with will agree but at the end of the day it doesnt mean a thing

Well whatever your side of the fence on Mr Malaxos, in truth the club has failled to perform up to pre-season expectations. As others have pointed out above, the players will now be under the pump to say the least.

Well done Mr Malaxos on a great career in WA football.

I think Old Easts will win the game by three or four goals. After the result, it may be SD thinking about the future of their coach.

Why would Swans be thinking about that AR?
