thing is Tiger, I understand the need for players(esp AFL players) to be flexible and display both attacking/defensive styles, but some players are just out and out forwards, backs etc etc.....don't see why Lyon has this need to run Duffy thru the midfield,is he gonna do better than Mundy, Barlow, Fyfe etc?....

no Duffy is the sort of bloke who will try and take on all n sundry, rather than feed it off to a better option.....better to do that close to your own goals, rather than in the middle of the ground or the oppositions forward line I reckon.

Agree, and would you agree Silvagni is an out and out back man? He ain't his cousin.

Not only for the Sharks but the Royals also. Plus from here on in Subi,SD and Perth as I think there's only one spot in the four up for grabs and that's Perth's ??? I think 6 wins for each will get them in the finals ?

The Sharks play the Tiggers twice so they must win against the Royals at least to have any chance to play finals they would also want to beat Subi twice and beat SF with two more wins against either Perth,WP or SD for 6 more wins - a win against Tiggers a super bonus !!! But that's what they may need to do in the last game of the season ???

East Perth are looking reasonably safe ? If they can beat EF and then Subi twice with a win against PT and SF for 5 more wins with possible wins against WP,Perth and SD not out of the question and once again a Tiggers win a bonus ???

Perth still have a lot of work to do after a promising start - A vital win is required over Peel this week as they play them again in a month but they struggle against them usually so if they beat them once then beat SF twice and Subi once for 4 wins plus they would need to win at least 2 other games out of playing Tigers,WP,EP,SD,EF for 6 more wins to reach the finals.Perth and Swans have a game in hand on EF and Subi. Perth are capable from what we've seen so far but they just have to keep it together.

Swans look to be the team most capable on paper of knocking out Perth at this early stage. They do play the Tiggers twice though but would need one win out of the 2 games against WP with 2 wins against Peel, and wins against SF for 4 wins then they would probably require 2 wins out of games against EP,P and EF.

Subi look the most unlikely to get in but if they can knock off WP in a upset they will be a chance but if not would have to beat EF twice, EP at least once of their 2 games and then PT,SF and Perth for 6 wins with Peter Featherby more chance of making a comeback than downing the Tiggers again. Pushing it uphill to get in but have their best team on the park from this Sat.

For me its Swans for 4th spot with Perth a chance followed by EF and then Subi but who knows ? Surely 5 more wins couldn't get you in ??? Let's wait and see. It could I hope go down to the last round with EP playing Subi,Swans against WP,EF v's Tiggers and Perth playing SF - There's so many possibilities with Peel and South there to put a spanner in the works of the teams above them !!!

On current form we go into this game as heavy underdogs. East Perth have won 4 out of their last 5 games & strangely their only loss during this period was against Peel. This game probably marks the line in the sand. If we lose this we go 5-7, with Claremont the following week 5-8 could then follow. If we can win this we go 6-6 & can look at kick starting our season again. I hope Howson makes his debut given his form in the reserves & I don't see the point in not playing him as he will be lost to us next year to the Chunder. It will be a real test for our side this round.

Silvagni might not be his cousin.....but yeah from what I have seen of him he is much like Dawson at Freo....designated backman, not pretty just dour and defensive...his cousin was a champ and had the ability to play both ends of the ground...

According to the Shark's circle email there have been some late changes to our line up. Here is a copy of the main section:

Please note that WAFL matches now start at 2:05pm due to the ABC broadcast.

The Sharks are desperate to get back into the winner's circle and to stay in touch with the top 4. We take on East Perth tomorrow who have won their last 2 against West Perth and Perth.

New additions are Cameron Sutcliffe (Dockers) and Sheppard and Brennan (Eagles). Dodd is still out for one more week and Symonds, Read and Tropiano are the emergencies.

We're without Hadley due to work commitments. After best on ground appearances for the Sharks, Bradd Dalziell returns to the Eagles as substitute.

League Bounce: 2:05pm, Reserves: 11.35am, Colts: 9:05am

Injury List

Matthew Jupp, concussion, available
James Saville, knee, test
Steven Dodd, knee, 1 week
Brad Dick, hamstring, 2 weeks
Kieran King, thumb, available
Sam Menegola knee, 8 weeks

I am a bit surprised that Symonds has been listed as an emergency. Surely MacDougall would have been dropped before Symonds.
