Interesting concept a fenceless WAFL ground with no entry fee,i suppose the unknown is if the revenue lost at the gate would be recouped by the food and bar sales, but you'd reckon a few more spectators would rock up and provide a better atmosphere so who knows.

very prophetic comments considering the inquest at this time!!

Stranger than strange, no fences no gates so give up 1500 (lets say 1000 paying adults) paying $15 each that's $15,000. you really think you are going to make at least that in food and beverage sales after expenses?

And there'll be pooches running amok everywhere taking a dump. Nice one. And the joint is NOT going to be flattened just refurbished? Holey Moley going to be a busy summer for Cody with the calking gun and No More Gaps.

It could probably work at a more community engaged club like Swans where they love their grog, and i could see a lot of the local yokels filling up a huge mega bar.

Stupid idea. Disrespectful to the WAFL. I bet it wasn't an ex player's idea.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

mmm i'm not casting aspersions on the good folk of Basso but maybe a fenceless Bassendean oval might not be such a good idea either.
