yeah but a different sort of alignment this time Grump....in 2014EVERY WCE listed player will be available for EP, if not playing AFL....last time other WAFL clubs were able to still keep their local listed boys....so what 58 is saying seems pretty spot on...

so looking around at other WAFL clubs in 2013....the likes of fringe players in Brown, Dick, Dalziell, Newman, Hutchings, McInnes, Tunbridge, Wilson, Hams, Colledge, Carter, Sinclair and McGovern would be pushing for a spot in EP league side for 2014....plus with the likes of Cripps, Lycett, Morton and Bennell already at EP PLUS others in Nicoski, Brennan, McGinnity and Sheppard - 2012 fringe players....how many spots are going to be left for local EPFC players then?....I've counted 21 players, give or take 3 - 4 injuries....few more than your game high of 9 don't you think mate?

With potentially 21 players left over from the West Coast senior side each week, it's hard to see many East Perth born and bred players getting a go. Even if on average 6 West Coast players are on the injury list per week, it still won't allow for many opportunities beyond the Johnsons, Wulffs, Smiths, Mossss etc

It's just a matter of the other 7 clubs keeping close tabs on the Peel and East Perth colts and then making them an offer when they turn 19.

Hopefully the non-AFL listed players at both these clubs are capped at 35 plus supps instead of 55 plus supps as at the other WAFL clubs.

2014 will be by far different than it was back in 2000. Even if there were 10 spots available for local EP talent, is that acceptable? Not when you have 60 odd players working their butts out over pre-season possibly thinking they will never play league football. Regardless of the intent, the numbers simply won't permit it. The club trashed on about survival but it won't feel like it. No more life memberships for players that's for sure.

Do you honestly think that they will allow you to nurture your younguns in front of playing their own lads? The only way they will allow that is if they think he is worth drafting. Mate face it...as soon as the honeymoon period is over, east perth football club is DEAD. In about 5-7 years time when your ersatz club takes home another flag, you'll be singing the eagle victory song. "Dad, who was east perth fc"???
