I'm just saying that you were already strong last year...throw in the aligned guys this year and come finals time, you're virtually unbeatable which is not a good look for those arguing for the alignment. If EP were a basket case on field like say Perth (my apologies to Dees supporters in advance) then you could say some good was coming out of it by lifting Perth up to everyone else but to add 12 full-time professional footballers to a side which was already in last years GF then that can't be good for the comp.

I don't dispute any of that BC apart from the unbeatable part. We haven't looked like beating Subiaco this year so I would throw that one back at you.

Absolutely Anchorman couldn't agree more. I have noticed a small drop of in numbers but the same thing has happened for the last thirty years. There is tens of thousands of EP supporters out there some disgruntled some that just take a passing interest and a couple of thousand that attend matches during the season. Same for many teams I guess.

While you guys are talking about crowds there was a 2% decrease in regular season crowds this year but there has been a 2% or more decrease most years since 2009.
2010 -2.85%
2011 -0.93%
2012 -6.05%
2013 -2.93%
2014 -2.16%
So there hasn't been an increase in the decrease, it is a steady decline (probably due to the fan base getting older and no new supporters coming through). 2014 is the first year since 2007 that the average crowd is below 2000.

The aveage home and away crowds per team, only 3 teams saw an increase. Another two teams did better than average.
Claremont -2.57%
East Fremantle -14.50%
East Perth -0.94%
Peel +5.63%
Perth -10.08%
South Fremantle +0.86%
Subiaco +15.04%
Swan Districts -1.01%
West Perth -5.32%

The key to any successful fact finder is to have multiple friends and avenues that you can send emails to and ask "hey can you send me the latest......." so you don't need to do any of the hard work yourself!

Barney: it is lot better than 2012 -- the trend is we have lowered the overall decrease in crowds. The interesting figure is EFs' one; the rest, I think can be explained by performance on the field.

I am not wanting to stir the possum here, but feel I have to ask ,where were these THOUSANDS of supporters before the alignment.I haven't seen a decrease in numbers at EP games.
The general interest from all clubs doesn't seem to have decreased because of the alignment.
If so many have been so disgruntles how come the figures are still basically the same as pre alignment.
It is a long time since EP or any club have had huge numbers at games.
Disgruntled.... maybe... but it didn't add up to figures or lost numbers at games.

This from someone who has been to NO WAFL MATCHES THIS YEAR.

What was the trend for home games for "East Perth" over the past 4 years?
