Good summary Grump. Your mob were deserved winners on the day as you were a lot more consistent in your run and carry through the middle and generally worked harder. Your midfield matches up well against any of the top teams but I think you're probably a key forward and back away from the upper echelon of teams in the comp.

Bonomeli had a good day but we need to remember he couldn't get a game at EF so could struggle against a quality backline rather than our Berenger who has only played a handful of games. In saying that, winners are grinners so well done to your mob.

Before the season started the usual ladder positions were predicted on here and there were a few who had EP is the top 5.Frankly I couldn't understand why such enthusiasm for that.I now see it.The midfield is just about elite status especially when you get 7 goals from your top 3 guys. The outstanding work from that group simply creates enough opportunities to score and takes a lot of pressure off the defence.Yes it's early days but the makings of a good side is there and as BC said you may be a key defender and key forward(wouldn't you love Kuek back)short.Even so if the side plays with the same intensity(for a full game) the wins will continue. And by the way full marks to McQueen. What a lot of people forget is that he has been in the EP camp for a while and knows these players(especially the younger ones) well and can get the best out of them.Things are looking rosy at the Royals.

Yea I know I need a life, just watched the game again as I usually do (win or lose).

I am not sure many had us in the 5 given we were and still are a bit of an unknown quantity and the level of mixed feelings towards us!

Bonomelli certainly wasn't a player I would hang my hat on but have to admit that in the side at the moment he gives us someone to kick to and he then is creating a bit of havoc. When Tom Graham is fit then we will have to see where he fits into the mix. McCreadie is going provide another selection headache if the hype is real, where does he fit and who drops out.

This is a comment abt Subiaco but is it possible that perhaps some of the players who were your B+ players when you were winning are now not at the same level, when you have 5 or 6 really good players other rise to the level but when they go the level goes back to what it is really! It is the same for us at the moment but in reverse, our A graders are forcing the b graders to rise up to a higher level.

After watching Subi struggle to get over the top of Perth,i struggled to see why they were made short priced favourites. One thing i gained from the previous week against Swans was,our undoubted new found midfield depth has allowed midfielders like Brayshaw,Scott and Shumacher to drift forward and hit the scoreboard. IT was no secret that Crowden would have a positive impact, but the addition of North,Pearce and TEDESCO have bolstered the midfield, and although i like Liam T's physicallity, there is a bit of room for improvement with his ball use.,but with Randall,Macreedie, MSando and Graham waiting in the wings, there is plenty of upside.

Thanks for the kind words. We still have our new recruit Macreadie to come back from injury  who hopefully solves our big kpd problem and Tom Graham who  looked promising as a kpf. last year. Not going to get carried away we do have a soft start like last year and we fell away very quickly.I think we are better placed this year as our recruits are better than those who we lost. Our good has been very good but we have periods when we are ordinary.hopefully the coach can rectify and with several players to come back in  we will be better.
