Suggesting that he was cream of the playing resources at Subi is quite ridiculous.
Cannot be compared.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Ted is quite correct a total disrespect to the other Clubs.
You can only do what your resources allow.
If you can pay players to be full time footballers so be it.
But that is the mismatch.
Other Clubs can't pay their players full time salaries.

I just read the paper DF and Wardman only defended his own players and the effort they make during the season and didn't say anything about other clubs and how they go about it. As for fulltime players, there's only two groups of fulltime professionals in this comp as you know and one lot wear Eagles jumpers and the other Peel...so I don't know where you're coming from there.

You seem to want myself, DG, SS, Singha et al to march up to the club and demand action a bit like the climate change brigade. Itself not up to us...it's time for Taylor to start earning his $400k salary.

Instead of swanning around at the Brownlow or enjoying corporate hospitality at the AFL GF, he should be convening a meeting of all clubs to thrash out the issues and come up with workable solutions.

Interesting post, culminating in one of the real issues of the argument. Don’t think that many companies would continue to fork out $400k to a manager that is allowing their business to slowly sink into extinction.

Many a accomplished business person on that board who would be ensuring that someone was earning their $400k with appropriate KPI's - Randell et al to name a few. We are lucky to have them...

58, the thing is, he's doing exactly what his AFL masters want, that is to drive the WAFL into the ground so it leaves room for their preferred model of an u/23 comp (with a limited number of over age players). His and the commissioners total inaction regarding equalisation and any discernible promotion of the comp is propelling the WAFL to that desired end. They know that without some serious equalisation actions the comp will continue to become less and less relevant, that action should be to pump some of the ten's of millions that the 2 AFL clubs have at hand into the other 7 WAFL clubs so they can have similar football departments, football support structures and the ability to attract quality players to match Subi, therefore lifting the overall quality of the comp, not dragging 1 team down to the rest.

Read it again BC.
Definite dig "our players train and work harder than everybody else".
Your Club is totally arrogant and in denial.

Which player has the luxury to go to the Ashes during the middle of the season comes back and plays in a Grand Final. Talk about rich pickings!

Yes, I was kidding. It is unfortunate that Randell et al aren't. Easy for some to blame Taylor - I blame the ones on the board who charge him with the responsibility and pay him the $400k. Perhaps rather than worry what AFL functions Taylor is attending, a focus perhaps could be on those who appoint him, thus pay him and then perhaps join him on some of his trips?
